Film it in vr360, so we can really get the experience

Have you ever seen a kid in a toy department lying on the ground kicking and screaming because they’re not getting what they want…

Just make sure the action doesn’t extend past 110 degrees…

My Vive needs a new head strap but I am not going to buy one if I get the free one with the Pimax

I think that’s what we all want but whats your idea of a reasonable time frame? 1 month or say 6 months?

Sometimes, a “reasonable time frame” needs to be extended, to “when the product is good enough”.

I work in software development. It’s unfortunate, but when a product isn’t ready (for some good reason) the product needs to be delayed.

I know it’s frustrating; I’m certainly frustrated by these delays, but the Pimax 8K is a “make or break” product for Pimax. They need to get this right; if they don’t it could seriously hurt the company. It is much better to delay and release a good product, than to ship one that has significant problems.

I’m sure Pimax wants to ship the 8K asap, but it doesn’t yet meet their quality goals (obviously). That means we have to wait until it’s ready. Griping about it is pointless.

I’m asking Twacker because he is one of the few who knows

I think the physical headset is ready personally. As ready as it needs to be. It sounds like the testers are getting a lot done via software adjustment and proper ipd calibration.

That would be great, if true. My concern is that there will need to be an M2 version, before we get our headsets.

i would be genuinely surprised if there was an m2. if there was anything there that required a physical retooling. the fact that testers are choosing to use it for 70 hours a week speak massive volumes of the mechanics of the headset. i dont think there are any deal breakers here.

i would say based on recent offhand comments by mixed and sweviver that having your ipd accurately measured and set is particularly important to experience with m1.

It would be great if no M2 was needed. I’m just feeling pessimistic after the months of delays. While a physical retooling might not be needed, if they revise the circuit board (for 90 Hz refresh fix, for example), I would think that would count as M2.

Well, I’d reccommend the old adage.

“No news may not be good news; but it’s not bad news either.”

Until then we know only what we do. The rest is imagined.

Now I have been Busy compiling a list of free vr content on Steam. One thing I often find annoying with steam is using the search in steam & the options of saving it for a later time.

So that being said here is a link

I honestly think it would be bad to call it M2 after the 8k name debacle. You’ll have ppl saying it’s not an expansion board. :beers::joy::+1::sparkles:

Restaurant guy on reddit got even more positive after a few days. He hasn’t made his mind up yet. He only got to wear the headset for max 15 minutes. The testers have far more info gathered and have more hours into the set. I think we are up for a matured headset. I believe Pimax will be mentioned next to HTC Vive and Oculus Rift as a high end headset. Surpassing the PSVR by far. Now only wait for some nice content, like Heliosurge just gave us. Would be awesome to actually experience the 8k in real life. :sunglasses:

Well at least 2 testers have not posted anything to the M1 tester forum for 7 days … But Sweviver and VoodooDE are active there. And Twack3r is also active but he only just joined that forum.

Of course there could be several explanations here, vacation might be one. But I’d rather see a lot of activity …

What does Twack3r do? like IRL? we have any info about him or is he just a random member of this forum who got to be a tester…?

It is also possible that all the feedback already provided by the initial testers covers everything that can be commented on which leaves Pimax to just get on with looking in to it all, fixing it or deeming it not something they will fix in version 1 of the 8K.

Sebastian and VoodooDE are both producing youtubes on their channel regularly now. Not on 8K, but other very good content. They are both good VR-youtubers. SweViver on the other hand doesn’t produce new content. Maybe Sweviver found something or could be of amazing help regarding an issue of sorts of which he is being an expert? Or even all three still are testing daily, but manage to find time for other stuff. I like how they all are so engaged in this field of VR.

I want:

And that is all @SweViver his fault …
