Trackers not working with Pimax after new SteamVR Update

Ever since steamVR updated this morning my vive trackers will not pick up via SteamVR. Not sure if it’s something that Steam needs to fix, or it’s something that Pimax needs to fix. All I know is I’m no longer able to use full body tracking with vive trackers on the Pimax 5k Plus after the newest update.

I believe 1 method of connecting. Is headset wands in Pitool; then connect via SteamVR to dongles.

@VoodooDE might have a how to if not broken.

Please post system setup, pitool & steamVR versions.

no it’s definately broken. Tried it. Seems to be a SteamVR issue.

Are you running steamvr beta? @sweviver

I’ve tried both non beta versions of steam and official versions of steam. No way to degrade versions or go back to previous versions of SteamVR.

Looks like the latest version of SteamVR made some changes to Vive trackers.

any updates on this? its driving me mad that i can’t use my full body anymore -.-

Have you tried deleting C:\ProgramData\pimax\runtime\config\lighthouse and then restarting the service?

I had gone on vacation for a few days and came back and had all sorts of tracking issues. My headset was glued to my far lighthouse and my controllers will 30ft away from where they actually were. Nothing worked to fix it until I deleting the config files.

tried that and no result sadly, wish pimax would get onto this kinda thing fast and not weeks after…

Same problem here I thought it was me spent about 3-4 hours messing around moved by base stations everywhere. For me steam vr launches everything is working good and then it greys out saying Place headset in position of base stations. Tried everything but nothing works. its definitely the tracking really annoying.

Why haven’t more people reported this? is it just us?

Well I legit had to downgrade back to my vive so I could use full body again, going on a flight to the us for a week and a few days so I hope it’s fixed by then…

Have you tried just unchecking the “Enable Lighthouse tracking” checkbox, and checking it again a few seconds later? It can actually be so simple.
Also you can try “Restart Service” button in PiTool.

Lastly, make sure your Lighthouses are set correctly (B+C without cable, and A+B with sync cable). Otherwise they will not work at all in PiTool.

Have not tested 132, did it come out in the past week?

I did all of that at the time, but I’ll give the new PiTool a try when I get back from my trip!
Thanks for the quick reply!

Tried all of that too the tracking just loses it no matter what i do.
I bet you an old steamvr version would fix the issue but the problem is i have no idea how to install an older version again .

Are u using the SteamVR Beta branch? I stopped using the betas long ago as they update too often and cause random issues.

I reported it on SteamVR discussion board on steam since steamVR 1.3.8, but everyone ignored me there and some of my posts were deleted now, everyone should let SteamVR know and tell them to fix their software, this is not pimax’s fault

basically, the latest SteamVR doesn’t see Pimax as a HMD, so it won’t bind new controller

But I used my Pimax today with latest SteamVR 1.4*** something and it worked… hmm I gotta look into this.
You mean the SteamVR beta branch?
