Well not exactly the same his is working fine.
Its the REV2PLUS…
True. Will be interesting for sure to see what sebas thinks about this
Distortions are the same… Very disappointing…
looks like I’m having a late night
True. The 8KX is supposed to have better blacks, colors, and contrast, compared to the 5K+ (and slightly better than the 8K). That means your simmer friends should be impressed.
I think @VoodooDE is too much of a perfectionist. We are living with black dots, dead pixels (all in manufacturing tolerances), so he could also for once give Pimax some slack and just test the mono VR with one panel (besides, no one knows, maybe the big band in the middle is perfectly ok). /s
I’m sorry that I expect a headset to have two working displays
They have all REV 3, one REV 4 and @VoodooDE , @mixedrealityTV had REV 2 for testing.
thats so pimax hahaha
On the Other hand this is a perfect Headset for Pirates and Big Boss from Metal Gear.
Just had the exact same thought
PiRats Day Edition
Maybe we’re dealing with one of those situations where compatible-ish components are sourced from the lowest offerer on a daily basis…
Will four reverends be enough to exorcise the demons that plague this outfit? :7
Alright…video is coming up: Pimax Vision 8K Plus - How Good Is The New Pimax Headset? First Impressions&Index/Reverb Comparison - YouTube
its a 8k+ not 8kx, the signal to the headset is just 2x 1440p as for the 8k/5k+
Why send people with media exposure obsolete prototype units when the company knows they will talk about it, and knows they have better.hardware shortly available?
thanks that’s the first time i see someone else mentioning/confirming it
so its not just me or my unit
no thats ok, just near the edge it changes (gets compressed and uncompressed)
pretty strange that everyone else does not care to mention this
i think full of people also speaking different languages like cantonese, mandarin, english, tech, marketing, …
not so uncommon when growth exceeds structural limits
Seb, Thomas and Martin were also testers from M1 through M5. They are totally familiar with the differences between versions so the engineering team occasionally sends items to get their take on it.
The engineering team considered their feedback the most useful they received. i.e. some feedback was “doesn’t work” or “didn’t like X”. Thing is engineers need to see exactly how to replicate the situation and then ideas on what an ideal resolution would be. Seb ,Thomas and Martin did a great job with that.
