XR2 platform is supporting Wigig (60Ghz) .
60 Ghz have effects on neuronal activity ,proliferation and cell metabolism , as well as effects on genomic instabiliy with risk of cancer. Not sure what sources you are aware as credible but I hope so that you smart enough to not belive experts or lobbyst from telco industry .
Maybe this sources will be credible for you ? @NextGenVR
The study you linked literally concludes the opposite of what you claim. I’m sure there is some truth to it, but again, spectral power density matters, not just frequency. I guess I do trust IEEE standards, yes. Their inherent limits on emissions have, so far, been good. We don’t have mutants from computers, life expectancy is up dramatically from them. Extensive testing is performed to determine at what amplitude damage occurs within various frequency bands. I suppose I’m shocked you’re willing to strap a VR headset on that clearly emits 2.4Ghz radiation for bluetooth constantly if this is your concern.
“The findings from the present study suggest that exposure of HCE-T and SRA01/04 cells to millimeter-wavelength radiation at 60 GHz for 24 h has no significant effect on MN frequency, single-strand breaks in the DNA, or Hsp expression. In conclusion, the exposure of cells to millimeter-wavelength radiation at 60 GHz does not seem to have adverse effects on the genotoxicity or Hsp expression of cultured HCE-T and SRA01/04 cells using our specific experimental conditions, although the possible effects of other frequencies require further study.”

*just bought vive wireless adapter (60Ghz)
** going to make a aluminum foiled hat ._.
I forgot about that demo! That was cool. But what I really meant was hanging out together from home. The presence of being in front of someone in VR is way better than a flat game, especially when you see people’s mannerisms that you recognize.
I used to think this project by Facebook is very cool but now it feels super creepy. Imagine giving facebook the ability to know everything about you including a 3D scan of your whole body so that they can potentially steal your online identity.
don’t be worried, soon ppl will have identity chips & face recognition software already widedly used, when you walk outside you are recorded. I even think that built in battaries in mobile electronics were made built in on purpose coz prevopisly you could put it off & hardware was completely power off, now it goes off but still has a charge & does some tracking. I even won’t be surprized that phones record you when you don’t use it & video recording is also possible. It’s totaly possible in theory & I believe different couuntries use it widely to spy etc.
The problem is Facebook wants to become like the NSA. Imagine people are having a private conversation through VR with these avatars that they normally would only have in person and now Facebook has it recorded. Also just the risk of data/security breaches that allow people to impersonate your avatar would be scary as well. It’s like a black mirror episode.
FB should follow laws of the country it based in, if country is against this it will be much easier to defend ppl rights, but if country doesnt mind to get this data as well it can be a life changer
You can see that effect already. Oculus stopped sales in Germany and Germany only, despite their practice being in violation of EU law, not German law.
Aluminum is reflected the wave elsewhere be sure that focus point is not the center of your eyes. Faq better not put tin foiled hat on head;-)
strangely disturbing In those covid times I see VR movies set using those tech to make cheap movie with virtual actors
I’m not that brave though
So when is Facebook connect exactly in EST ?
It starts in 5 minutes.
ehh, single 4k LCD panel with moving lenses,
good buy OLED hmds, even Oculus ditched it, well not Oculus but FB
Tyriel Wood - Quest 2 Review:
EDIT: There’s a dedicated thread for it here:

Just pre-ordered it. The damn order page rejects the address of my newly constructed apartment so it was a mess dealing with it…
I cannot believe its 300, 90hz 4k. Bought without a single hesitation. What an absurd price, Oculus are mad
