Pimax sword Controllers!

Valve will likely maket the sensor areas pocketed so only thin area on controller will be where the sensor is.

With the appearance of the controller on pimax having the halo Cuffs hopefully pimax has learned to make the molds with only the area of the sensors thin. But who knows as I would have thought they would have kept Sense in both options as originally stated.

Having some experience working with manufacturers and designing hardware for their controllers, I reckon there is very little for us to worry as far as Valve is concerned.

Pimax on the other hand…

Well to be fair… Steamcontroller took Valve a bit to dial in the software & think Valve was involved with design of Vive Wands as LG was originally just cloning the wands.

But yeah agreed Valve at present has a stronger demoed mfg capability.

“Sword” is an odd name. The seem more like “Hilts” but that is also an odd name.

Two versions seem confusing to developers and consumers. Any games expecting the features of the sense will not work well with the sword.

yes, will be made a system of choice :grinning:

The Sword is smaller, lighter, replaceable battery, longer battery life in most situations, more ergonomic, LH 2.0 compatible and has other improvements too. Less money as well. It also allows us to have a complete LH 2.0 package.

Agreed. Valve release one HMD and one set of controllers - Pimax released three HMDs and two sets of controllers. Feels like they are making it hard for themselves.

“Pimax Sense” sounds like an ok name for the “Sword Sense” don’t know what they would call the “Sword” in that case. “Pimax nonsense”? “No sense”?

Indeed especially as one version is just a crappy vive wand now.

As for the name not very inspiring after all the possible submissions. Seems NA derived. :pensive:

Now how about a hand sensing version as originally promised in both versions.

Isn’t the Sword Sense LH 2.0?

By the way, does the Pimax Sword Sense have a pressure / compression sensor like the index controllers?

Somehow I missed this moment.

No finger tracking for Sense version? WTF?
I need ffinger tracking and trackpad. I voted for it and paid for it!

Anyway I will order Index Controllers, It more ergonomic and will released 2 month earlier.

What he means is Sword sense will not be ready & they want to have a controller ready for LH v2.0 release. So Sword the vive wand remix will be released with pimax LHes.

Sword Sense (Joystick ver) will have it.

While Trackpad preferers would get the vive wand in a knuckle shell without sense.

Now guess will have to get 2 Joystick sets as the trackpad version has been crippled. Truth they could release 2 versions of each.

Sense & Non Sense (pun intended) :beers::joy::+1::sparkles:

He (@PimaxUSA) was responding to @IG88’s comment:

for me it looks like the simple version is just the same as the old vive wands and the sense version is the clone of the knuckels (as it was intended from the beginning)

I.e. the Sword (or “simple version”) is:

smaller, lighter, replaceable battery, longer battery life in most situations, more ergonomic, LH 2.0 compatible and has other improvements too. Less money as well. It also allows us to have a complete LH 2.0 package.

compared to Vive Wands…

Pimax really should consider adding the pressure sensors onto these controllers, at least on the Sense version.

Otherwise the Pimax controllers will not be compatible with an future games which require the Valve Knuckle controller

And which ones do we backers get?

Its so stupid… 10 versions of headsets, 10 versions of controllers, 10 versions of lighthouses.
Looks like Pimax have no clear vision.
