Yes… This is the correct answer! Some people just are not bothered by it and can filter it out… I only notice it in modern headsets when I look for it, but it is still there and I can always see it when the scene contrast is just right. Some will always be prone to seeing this and others not so much… So everyone is right on this issue because it comes down to a personal disposition.

Funny I know folks in their 80s & 90s that require neither hearing aids or glasses. Hearing & sight considered in normal range.
Exactly, I do not see SDE when playing, but if I stop and look for it I see it.
And your point is what exactly, not every one gets cataracts, but if you do you can have them removed.
Well we know that Nordic was working with Arm & the 4k panels. So what if this new model with the lower res & lower FoV is an all in one plus pc connectivity? Simply put too many unknowns. The Artisan may simply be a lower end product to gain sales at a low price point requiring a less powerful pc.
We simply don’t have enough details save lower FoV 120hz & lower Res.
Simply put someone does not need to see or hear what you do & have defective sight & hearing.
Seb was able to see 8k Wobble while majority doesn’t without doing a specific test. So the point stands just because someone doesn’t what others do. Is not a sign of having bad sight. In this case it’s a boon.
Another user had a similar experience not being able to see a perceived defect that others could. And was bothered by it. If you can’t xp something that might be a bane to other’s enjoyment. Don’t strive to xp it as it may not be undone & become a source to spoil one’s enjoyment.
But if you want an interesting effect. I have a friend who is also color blind. In Blue & green. As such he doesn’t in his xp see much of a difference between 1080 & 4k. How do you find differences in Res? At a guess you more clearly see differences in Resolution. Now is your color blindness match his?
"Exactly the point. There are some who think they should get the 8k+ now as “it’s the 8k they had wanted”.
Not exactly the point. They are admitting the total fiasco that the 8k has supposed, that they have discontinued in less than a year. Tell me a single commercial HMD of a serious company that has been discontinued in less than a year. I consider that pimax with that movement considers that 8k is not good enough, and that is why I feel cheated. And yes, I think the 8k+ is the 8k PIMAX promised us
I have problems with Red Brown, I see color, But not as vibrant colors as some one who dose not have color blindness.
I should spell it " Colour" as I am English-speaking,
I am very much looking forward to seeing the specs on next weeks new headset!
Will it be the 8kx+? the 5k++ ? the 8.25k+1.5?
Hi there, well, I told you and the general public more than once that the 5k+ is superior to the 8k. And they would even give you $100 to “downgrade”.
It exactly is, in every single meaningful way other than they couldn’t find the panels they hoped for in a workable timeframe. That’s it.
Yeah… about that $100.
I remember you said so
However…
Pimax said in Project upgrade #32
The team regards 8K as the next generation enthusiast headset and 5K as a light version of 8K. During the Kickstarter roadshows last year, the gap between 5K and 8K was obvious.
I respected Pimax’s insight.
Will the next pitool provide inside out tracking to my 5K+ as a reward for waiting 2 years for the basestations? /s
If this is true it makes sense. But i would be worried that the quality would be as bad as HTC Cosmos.
If you look over the facts. Does anybody wonder why the simplest thing, getting lighthouses to backers seems to be waaay more difficult for pimax that it should be?
It feels almost too obvious whats going on here. Pimaxes ability to deliver a key component of their package is being held hostage by their competitor Valve.
Why would Valve who is as of the time of writing this is sold out until February 2020 prioritize Pimax over themselves. Pimax is at Valves mercy.
I know Kevin said that they are working with Valve. But I don’t think its the friendly relationship they are making it out to be. Its more like the bully claiming he’s your friend if you do his homework. And if you don’t he’ll beat you.
Going with their own tracking makes sense because it would free them from the clutches of Valve. Its the real reason HTC Cosmos even exists.
HTC was truly partnered with valve and their headset received priority. But the second Valve became a competitor even HTC started to flounder.
The 8k we backed is the one delivered as the panels were not available that is being used now. The 8k may not be sold anymore but is still a valid headset. It still has base upgradability in modules & firmware.
If the hardware that is in use now was available during the Kickstarter the 8k would have been what the 8kX has become.
So what happens if someone needs to RMA there 8K, will they get an 8k+ back ?
Wrong address
BTW, SteamVR tracking is a kind of inside-out tracking, so your wish had already came true!
Just find that Artisan is on chinese website.
It shows price of ¥ ?,499.
¥ 1,499 ≈ $ 195 * 1.1 (x)
¥ 2,499 ≈ $ 325 * 1.1 (x)
¥ 3,499 ≈ $ 449 * 1.1
¥ 4,499 ≈ $ 599 * 1.1 (x)
¥ 5,499 ≈ $ 715 * 1.1 (x)
¥ 6,499 ≈ $ 849 * 1.1
$449 or $849
Then it must be $449.
edit : Sorry! HMDs for Chinese were 10% much expensive than ours! I just fixed calculations.
