Or better eyes. I can tell you as I encroach on 70 years. Even prescription lenses can only fight off age so long. There will come a time when 20/20 isn’t quite doable anymore.
The upside is SDE is even less evident and we don’t need as much AA

If some thing is there and you have good eyes you WILL see it, If you can not see it and is not acute enough to see then get glasses that’s what they are for. unless you are saying some one can have selective vision.
I have 20/30 vision maybe that why I can’t see it. Like I said I do not see it. Not understanding why you’re refusing to accept that.

They spent 2 months putting lighthouses in boxes so far so… yeah not buying it lol. I don’t care so much about the completion date but why announce something that will be months away and face delays after delays. Wouldn’t it be nice to bust out the door with a product in hand and ready to ship? Wouldn’t that feel good for everyone at Pimax instead of this product limbo we’ve all become accustomed to?
After following this thread and putting all the dots together, this is my theory:

Good theory… Would be interesting to see this as it would parity most of the other VR headset manufacturers switching to inside out tracking! Personally I still find outside in to be way superior, but the ease of setup more than makes up for the slight loss of tracking for most folks… especially if you are not trying to do E-Sports with the headset where very precise tracking is needed!
If inside-out is indeed the goal, then the giant ring on the controllers makes sense. It would be more like Windows MR than Valve’s LH system. Hmm…

Exactly the point. There are some who think they should get the 8k+ now as “it’s the 8k they had wanted”.
We have some who think the 120hz not working on their serial is a big issue when it wasn’t part of the original specs.
Simple truth if they had a 
and foretold ppl new tech would be out if they waited for it. 
I still think were doing alright when you consider how many Kickstarter projects have had less to make & are either delayed more than 2 years or not delivered at all. Were only just coming up to 2 years come Mar 2020.

Then a lot of ppl need glasses as I can see very small porosity in castings vs some who cannot. Some ppl have good 20/20 eyesight & cannot see details as acutely as others.
Color blindness (inability to distinguish between 2 colors can affect perception)

Did you ever see all of the p1:series? Pimax 4k, Pimax B1, Pimax Pro.
Because I can see it with and without my glasses, But I cannot see the SDE of MY monitor untill I put my glasses on. its there if you look for it.
5K+ is not that good for SDE and its so easy to see.
I am color blind, dose that make me unable to see it ?

The point is you can only judge your experience & not someone elses. Some can see the black dots on the quest & index & some don’t.
Most adults have reduced range of hearing compared to teens. Yet they are not deaf & do not require hearing aids.

Well I never said anything about SDE but the 8KX is obviously higher resolution. I do see the SDE clearly in my 5K+ but TBH It has never bothered me even back to the Oculus DK1 which looked like a damn jumbo-tron strapped to your face. People perceive this differently and to some it is the most important aspect and to others not so much… for me it is sheer clarity of the image that I am after… being able to read small text and make out finer details in the distance is what I want… If there is no SDE then that is just a bonus to me because so far I have seen it in every headset with the exception of the Samsung O+ but with the diffusion layer on that headset the distant objects always had a slight blur and that did bother me. so for you it seems like it might not be a big upgrade but for me it seems it will… nice that we can all have options and get what we want out of a VR headset these days! []-)

That would indicate pimax is delaying the controllers so they work with inside out tracking. Screw everyone that have been waiting years for them lets jump on this new technology. Backers are worthless anyway.

I just want to start by clarifying where I say ‘you’ in this thread refers to pimax, not you personally.
Now this is exactly what I’m talking about, pimax spending all of its limited resources creating new items to bring more cash before it has fulfilled the items from the cash it took 2 years ago. No matter how you want to spin it, it’s not ethical.
Hand motion was demonstrated fully functional and in its pimax modular form prior to pimax 5k+/8k release, well before the company changeover. It really appears as BS that this was delayed by a third party…they had it ready for the pimax release. People at the backers demo were very happy with it.
As I’ve said before re the lighthouses, what kind of company sells people something from a 3rd party cash upfront without securing supply. This is not Valves fault at all, they had nothing to do with it.
Again, exactly what I’m talking about. Using up all the very limited resources on grabbing new cash before fulfilling commitments of cash taken from us years ago.
As to more people in the world than me, yes there are far more important issues at hand for the global population than consumer items. However does that justify pimax’s behaviour? Should we just accept unethical behaviour and companies taking our money and using on someone else’s new product instead of fulfilling what we paid for because there’s bigger issues? And believe me I know about a few of the bigger issues, my life is affected by them in a very in my face way (whilst having the other side of the coin too and being very fortunate in other ways).
If pimax stopped working on toys to go directly to saving our oceans, stopping human trafficking, curing cancer or the like then I wouldn’t complain about not getting my toys and would donate money to you guys. But you’re making toys…and not the ones you took my money for, but ones to take other peoples money from them…so tell me how the bigger issues of the world population make this right.

Or perhaps it is a completely different controller solution since the ones they are currently working on would still need to be externally tracked via the lighthouse… for inside out it would require something different… Thinking something like the Vive Cosmos and how the rings are lit?
Sounds like more resources wasted. How many “controller” teams do pimax have? They are a “small company” after all. I cant believe developing a whole second controller with a whole different type of tracking has not caused any delay.
