you haven’t you seen the pic comparisons? its a major difference, but indeed if you think the 5k+ is good enough for you why buy a new headset, nobody is telling you have to buy it.

Only really feasible if pimax are licensing the tech from some other co , look how HTC are struggling with inside out tracking
At first I thought: wow, a 140° Upgrade-Kit lenses for all 8k/5k+, so less FOV, but better SDE and sharpness…

Not true. As he stated before he has trouble seeing SDE on other headsets. Just means he’s not sensitive to seeing it like most.
I notice the sde/pixel pattern in both 5k+ & 8k. But find the 8k less of a bother compared to the larger tetris blocks. But do definitely want to see the new 4k rgb panels.

It doesn’t look like that. Same lenses, shorter panels. Therefore SDE of artisan and 5K+ will be same.
Thats not being sensitive to seeing it, that is eather he dose not know what it is, or his eyes are not up to seeing it.

Doesnt matter if the Artisan caused zero interference with any other product currently slated for release, it could have been a pet project of some of the guys working on their off time. It…doesnt…matter. What matters is the image pimax is putting out. Releasing this new headset when there are SO MANY things pimax has yet to keep their promise on reflects TERRIBLY on the company. There could not have been a worse time to announce a new product. Your flagship headset…delayed. pitool? Delayed. Hand tracker? Crickets…who the hell knows if and when this comes. Same with eye tracking. Base stations? Delayed. Controllers? Delayed…
And so on and so on. Pimax gives zero consideration to how the public perceives them and continues to shoot themselves in the foot it seems like almost on a weekly basis.

Which is exactly that. If you can’t see it then your not sensitive to it.
Much like some can see actual refresh rate differences & while a lot cannot. Same principle with Audio frequency range.

Well we know the whys on Lighthouses and we. Know when they start shipping.
The Artisan we don’t know when it is releasing atm it is a tease. Now not as bad of a tease of Oculus Half Dome. This doesn’t affect current timelines.
If you can`t see the SDE you need glasses OR better lenses.
Has nothing to do with, “your not sensitive to it.”
I can not see bacteria, so dose that make me not sensitive to it. No I would use a microscope so I can see it.
Well, it surely didn’t fall out of heaven and we do know that the 8KX basically is 2 years late by know and even more so is the mandatory accessory, the MAS which definitely was abe to be finalized in a reasonable time since long.
It might not be the Artisan alone but moving from 5k to 5K+, inserting the 8K+, it all added to it. Plan, project, focus, deliver. I might be wrong and at the time the KS launched they didn’t have even the means to build the 8KX - which actually would make it worse. And, just speaking for myself, I opted for 8K over 8KX to have something in hand rather soon and they promoted it to be the furure iof VR and we, the 8K backers would be “Futurists”.
Now, matter of fact, that “future” they promised us with the 8K is already long forgotten past to them and replaced with the 8K+
So, when they rolled the drum to switch from 8K to 5K+ they immediately should have offered the alternative route to go from 8K to 8K+ and I would have gone that by then and saved them and us on that terrible “update” plan we are still (again) missing the promised deadline update.
Also, I can ponly repeat, if I was in their shoes, id go out on a limb and offer trading in the stupid stretch goals they apparently do not want to deliver for standard item pack containing comfort kit, silcone cover and upgrading the MAS to Deluxe to get rid of people expecting eye tracking leave alone wireless which they not gonna come up with realistically in the next 3 years.
It’s nitpicking, I know, but we only know the latest intended ship date. We won’t know when they’re shipping until we start seeing them arrive. Everything else is asking us to take Pimax’s word on faith, which is a very big ask.
Pimax are saying two incompatible things, IMO. Either “we are a small team delivering as fast as possible”, or “the people we tasked to yet another headset couldn’t have helped deliver anything else”. I honestly don’t believe both can be true at the same time. It’s absolutely a question of priorities, and Pimax need to just come out and say “Backers are not our priority”.

It does not mean you need glasses. It simply means your sight is not acute enough to see it.
1 late so far. Kickstarter original projected date was Mar 2018 if mem serves. Now if it’s not out til March 2020 then yes the estimated delivery is 2 years late. On the plus instead of getting an experimental 2 cable no scaler & non rgb 4k screens headset. We have a single cable with switchable scaler, 4k Rgb screens. Truthfully now I wished they had delayed the 8k & given us the option to wait for the 8k or switch to 5k+.
Discontinued. But not forgotten. Much like the og 5k. It didn’t make sense to sell a 5k & 5k+. They made it clear with modules old headsets still remain valid. Even when something better comes out.
As for the deadline update. It was only said last week they are discussing the extending. Sure details out this week.

Can you - just for a minute - picture the scene if that had happened ?? It would be a slaughterhouse of gargantuan dimensions over here in the meantime… you’d have a whole tourist infrastructure built around trips to the Pimax HQ for Purge™-trips of backers willing to dedicate the rest of their lives to serve long prison-terms just to get their revenge… nope, bad idea !
