NSFW Topic: High res nature videos to showcase the 8KX clarity

If you can just let us know.

Will do , I was impressed by the picture quality of those 7k videos of Virtualtaboo , never saw such clarity in videos in vr. But it looks like they are not making very wide fov videos. As far as I remember there is a website that is focusing on pimax products , vodoode made a video about them

@VoodooDE Could you chime in with your expert knowledge on wide fov nature videos?

The nature video is great. But it is not interactive. I would strongly recommend to look at Virt-A-Mate. Here you can see some examples https://www.reddit.com/r/VAMscenes/

Nice eh, it really makes a difference especially if you compare it to 4k vids that some studios still produce. However one big part of it, at least for the index, is also the bitrate. For example “sexbabesvr” releases 5k vids but they have an option to download the ‘full’ video which will give you 60 mbps. That will look as good as the higher res vids, at least on the index. So bitrate is really important.

Most studios still shoot 4k/5k vids with 30mbps but things are finally moving now in favour of us, the people who want nature vids in the best quality

My not professional 4K camera uses 100mbps, the older camera had 200mbps. HD Blu-ray - 50mbps. We cannot expect the good quality from 30mbps.

At CES we were showing movie trailers on the 8k+. It really is amazing for that. It has a far higher panel utilization than the original 8k (so it actually is higher resolution), much more powerful audio capability (can use our BMR audio solution), higher contrast, RGB stripe vs. pentile (so much more sub pixel data), higher pixel density means no distracting SDE at all.

The MAS and comfort kit also make a big difference.

The input resolution is 2560x1440 per eye scaled to 3840x2160, the height stays at 2160 (not 3840 as you mention, just a small correction).

@Anan have seen now the video with 8k+
Holy Shi*, this is crisp…

think, this resolution should forbidden! XD

Saw it too but I could not get the settings right, certain natural features up close were hard to focus on. Maybe IPD related?

The crispness though… Wow! That was exactly what I was looking for, in my 5K+ there was an annoying presence of SDE so I can’t wait to check this in the 8KX

Very close things in films always cause crossed eyes.

in reality, also

Haha that sounds very good, if you say that with the 8k+, wonder what happens when someone tries it with 8k-X…

It will be the same. vertically you can only see a third of the total image

Maybe vertically you are correct, but horizontally I am sure there are pixels that the 8k plus is not able to show as I am able to see the entire video in large FOV with my old 8k. Hopefully this will make for an even sharper image, but we have to wait for someone with an 8kX to chime in to know for sure.

Anyways we have gone from 5k to 8k being the highest resolution in almost just a year, I am pretty sure studios will continue trying beat each other on resolution so it will not be long until we see even higher resolution that really favors the X.

My vam folder is already 200gb big :joy:

Its the best interactive 3d graphics so far on this planet in vr

My is just 50big.

I hate SDE in Vive. I have difficulty to play VR game because SDE is so big I spent all my attention to it.
I was shocked how in VAM some people so real that I totally forget about SDE.

You will be blown away on the index , g2 and especially on the 8k X

The mind makes up for a lot. I noticed in my old Vive that some games and scenes take your mind off of the sde and your brain just sees through the mesh.
