NSFW Topic: High res nature videos to showcase the 8KX clarity

Let’s be real. VR has a use base of men using it to primarily or sporadically view nature videos to satisfy a certain biological need.

The 8KX is very expensive but has the potential to offer the most realistic looking videos of all headsets.

But it needs high res content. So it might be a very wise idea for Pimax (@SweViver) to contact certain creators of VR nature videos and to provide high resolution demos or even sales options on their own platform specifically for the 8KX (and 8K+) headsets, right?

just subscribe to and regularly poke your favourite “naturefilm” provieder for higher res content.
ive seen some offering 6k, if you can get them to up it to somewhere around 10k for a 180° arc, that should be pretty much perfect.

I think Pimax should do some business here, they can mutually benefit from mentioning eachother

I like nature videos I think more than the next man but they get about 1% of my VR time so I’m not convinced you are correct (even when the quality improves). VR has a lot more to offer and unlike the beginning of the internet I don’t think it will be the nature vid industry that drives investment in VR!

Nature Videos suck, people have moved on to make wild life game documentaries.

All good nature videos of this kind are 180° video, not very immersive on a large FOV headset.

Something like Pico G2 4K should be more suitable, hoping that the Snapdragon 835 has the power for at least 6K video. Oculus Go’s 821 is not enough.

After doing some tests of different nature videos on Quest (Snapdragon 835) I would say it could handle 4k at max

Correct. Most of the vids out there are blurry or very straining on the eyes and just uncomfortable, but once in a while I find one that is very well done, and I see the future of what is possible.

Nature Treks VR not enough for you? :smirk:

especially the nature videos filmed from your POV.
