Oh yeah, I definitely miss the good ol days when you could buy stuff online and avoid the taxes! I knew it was only a matter of time though when I was able to buy a $2000 tv and not pay any taxes on it.

Not a single word in the video about “distortions”, “distortion correction” or “lenses”. So they are the same as on the old headsets and still have the edge distortions ?

I think the backer discounts are rediculous. :flushed:

I still need the BS+ controllers so I would have to pay $949 for the 8KX + $179 for the controller upgrade + at least $300 shipping and taxes ?
$1428 for the set ? LOL

They want us to opt-out of the stretch goals and their own controllers because they can’t deliver after more than 2 years waiting time.

That’s all really dissapointing ! :rage:

Looks like we have until the end of December to take advantage of the “discounts” so I’ll just sit tight for now and see what the impressions are like from the various shows that will be happening before then.

I feel bad for backers but also envious about the upgrade program. I pre-ordered my 5k plus headset and got it instantly within 15-20 days from Shanghai. The funny thing is my order still shows as “unfulfilled” on the Pimax order status page.

I was told we will be able to use the $100 credit by Kevin Henderson

Only one question, I am not sure that this is already comment or not.

How I can use $100 coupon when I downgrade from 8k to 5k+?

Get answer : Plan C

I am in the same boat.
I backed the 8K for $499, then switched to 5k+, I have been waiting to RMA the 5K+, in the hope that I could swap back to the 8K, but the only way I can get the 8K+ now is to RMA the 5K+ and then sell it and buy the 8K+ for backer discount of $449, Pimax will then get $948 for a kistarter that was $499.
What a con.

Very professional presentation thank you Martin and Kevin.

It seems like the only way to not lose money is to wait it out. I was hoping for a controller “plan”, which turned into 179 USD manipulation fee, plus shipping and possibly taxes. I may as well buy them directly from Valve.

Seems to me the only ones that win in this sea of confusion are those that backed the 8kX during the kickstarter.

These are fair points you raise.

I believe the discussion today was for ‘backers’ and not for pre-orders. As your situation is more ‘unique’ it may be worth sending a support ticket to Pimax and asking them, or by starting a thread here on the forum.

The ‘Vision series’ 8K Plus and 8K-X come with Audio Strap upgrade as standard.

The use of the coupon is included in designated upgrade plans, they are marked as exclusive to 8k backers, who downgraded to 5k+.

Do they come with the comfort kit as well? The images on their store show they do or is that another $50 item we have to purchase?

My hope/guess is that is including the $99 for the eye tracking… But I’m not certain…

Thank, just read about plan C which decrease $100 from plan D. But what is Opt-out from all backer stretch-goals, what we lose?

Pimax comfort kits comes with all ‘Vision series’ headsets as standard and you don’t have to pay 50 dollars for it no.

On plan B they dont charge 100 if you keep Your Eye Tracking Discount

If you opt-out the backer stretch goals you lose.

Extra face cushion.
Upgraded Audio Strap.
Face Fan.
Prescription VR Lens frame - won’t work with eye tracking module anyway as eye tracking now support prescription lenses in a different way.
Free game keys delivered digitally.

But keep the 100 dollar wireless module coupon.

Note I didn’t mention the ‘free’ eye tracking stretch goal above as this was scrapped, however the price of eye tracking has now been reduced to 99 dollars.
