Blacklight Brightness 120hz mode on Pimax 5k Plus headsets.

The 8K-X is a beautiful device. Finally, the HMD I wanted all along.

Also what about people like me who is not a backer but do have a 5k+ or 8k headset. I already bought index controllers and base stations but still would like to upgrade would I have to pay full price?

As low as $649, kinda tempting.

I will use option 1 for a $649 8KX however, I do feel the RRP inflated a little to compensate for these discounts seeing as most initial sales will be from 8K and 5K+ owners. But that’s me being cynical.

Bring it on.

BTW. What’s the UK conversion price?

What about the index controller base station upgrade plans?

ok, so if you’re a 5k+ HMD only kickstarter backer, and want an 8kx, you give up your stretch goals, and your $100 you already paid, and get:

1299 - $100 (u already spent, coupon) - lose the promised eye tracking (already been through this, which was at least a couple hundred) - all other stufff

So, 1299 - hard coupon: $1199

Say all of the stretch goals worth (including the promised eye tracking) are $250, go review them, there’s a lot.

1199 - 250 = $949

Checks price… $949.

So where’s the discount? Seems like just a “free” headstrap to me…

I was hoping for a much better discount for backers.

So is there still no upgrade program(send in old for discount)?

Any upgrade options for non backers who preordered the 5k+ or 8k? I would hate to have to keep my old headset and spend full price for the newest headset.

What was the link for the prescription lens adapter?

link he gave did not work

Blacklight fix on 120hz. Only thing that bothers me at the moment.

I am backer of the full 8KX and the normal 8k headphone only, so I have 2 Strech-Goals and a set of controls + base stations.

Can I transform the 8k (which I finally have the 5k +) by the 8kx and give up the 2 Strech-Goals to further reduce the price?
All this assuming that the 8KX comes with the comfort kit?

8K -> 5k + -> 8KX (649 $ Opt-out All backer Stretch Goals from (8kx) + Opt-Out Base Station & Controller (from 8kx) + Opt out Eye tracking discount (8kX) + Opt-Out All Backer Stretch Goals from (8K) + Opt Out Eye Tracking discount (8k) Can I get more discount from this?

So, eye tracker reduced to $99 for backers, I’m assuming we can use our $100 coupon for this then?@SweViver

Pimax Day 2 - Update.

Pi-Tool will be able to change the front chevron RGB LED on the headsets to any colour but are currently testing it with 3 colours.

‘Physical resolution reduction’ is in the new version of Pi Tool. This means when you reduce the FOV it doesn’t just ‘mask out’ the part of the screen like it used to by a mask, but is now physically cutting off parts of the panel. This reduces rendering and benefits the performance of the headset.

Pimax Day 2 - Update.

5K Plus 120 hz/120 FPS is supported at 130 FOV horizontal as an Alpha release of Pi-Tool and will be updated frequently as it’s an Alpha version so take note that it might not be stable.

Pimax are still experimenting to see if the panel can support 120 hz/120 FPS at even wider feel of view.

8K-X might be able to have higher refresh rate in the future.
