Beta testing of the eye tracker starting from 15th December if I remember the presentation correctly?
So I assume you can order it sometime in 2020.
@Matthew.Xu 8K backer without base stations or controllers. Am I eligible for plan B ?
Indeed. The “obvious” way to deal with the matter would be to simply list every item that can be “traded in” in a form, with a checkmark that can ticked for each.
Multitudes of package solutions just makes it difficult to get an overview of things (EDIT: …which may very well be the intention, whenever such are offered. “Yeah, you can get A, but only if you take B too, and opt out of C”.)
I backed the 8k-X. I would like to return my loaner 8k and pay for the shipping.
How can I get a return label? Cannot see anything on the shop page regarding 8k-X backers.
if i read plan g right it says the shipping label will cover up to 35 dollars
Will be interesting whether
- the wireless module will work with the 8k X in “scaler mode” (isn’t it like an 8k+ then?)
- the 8k X can run at 90 Hz in scaler mode (-"-)
- the 8k+ and 8k X (in scaler mode) can also run at 120 Hz with small FoV
Would really like to know how many buried their plan to preorder the 8K-X when they got aware that taxes and delivery alone is beyond 300$.
Would also like to know WHY?
When I ordered the 5K Plus, the 5K XR and the 8K it was always just the headset plus 60$ for shipping!
Tax & delivery arent included?
Really?..
Im still watching the stream as i started late.
It’s Plan G. 8KX are Plan G
Well, in order to list a price that includes tax, you first need to know which country/state the customer lives in (EDIT: …so you can look up the taxation there), which is also why US sites routinely list prices sans tax, and adds it at checkout (EDIT: …but try to explain that to rightwinger Europeans who complain about taxes, and point to US pre-taxation list prices) – that is reasonable enough, but… :7
Nope! for me (shipping to Germany) the 8K-X with Deluxe Audio and everything included (shipping & taxes) totals at a reasonable 1725.24$
Pimax definitely lost their mind!
Many of us can’t order unless we know four things…
- Do either of the headsets come with the comfort kit (not just the MAS)?
- Can the 8kX extend the cable by 2m even if in upscaled mode only or normal FOV?
- How confident and far along is 8kX in terms of reaching 90hz NATIVELY if even in normal FOV only?
- Can wireless work on the 8kX in upscaled mode or normal FOV at the very least?
it’s a big dissapointment. Allways mention taxes for normal consumers. Oculus isn’t promoting the Quest for 250 neither
Lol peanuts…
yeah, by the time you add in the taxes and shipping you will practically be right back up to the original 1299 price.
Well, I’m not going to spend another 449$ to get another headset while I’m still waiting for my 5K+ to be usable.
I will stick with what I have and what I’m supposed to receive (MAS, etc) and will probably buy the comfort kit (fix for the poor comfort of the prototype we received) so that I can eventually use it.
Since I downgraded from 8K to 5K+, I also should be able to get the eyetracking module for “free” I suppose (using the related coupon).
That is my “upgrade” plan >__<
Pimax does not get to keep the taxes or shipping costs. Try buying anything on the web now days. same old story. thanks CONgress.
