Move here to discuss ‘Pimax Day 2’

No. I don’t want an 8kX or 8k+. I just want my full package and my stretch goals.

Where do I make that choice? Where do I get that “ball rolling” now?

You wouldn’t loose the MAS (m audio strap?) like it would come as part of the 8kplus or 8kX.
I’m not so sure about the Wifi coupon and the 3x software either.
Atm it sounded to me like loss of face cusion, fans & prescription frame and optional the eye tracking rebate. In turn in case of the 8kX 200$ less, so even if the wifi coupon is lost as well it could be an OK deal but only if the software is not part of the trade in items. confusing confusing…

You don’t. You “just” wait even longer.

No @mazi, if I was to buy a 8k+ or 8kX, I’m already paying for the strap, which is part of the 8k+ or 8kX package.

I want the MAS for my (downgraded to) 5K+ that I was promised as a stretch goal. They’re making it, I was promised it, I want it.

So I have a backer 5k+ I downgrade from the 8k gathering dust because the vive wands suck. I don’t want another pimax headset due to that issue. I can’t order the index because I live in Canada (wtf valve) any idea if the index upgrade package ships to Canada? It says in fine print not available to all countries.

The modular audio strap is 120$ in their shop. You can purchase an additional one any time. In case you take the rebate via such an upgrade you pay 200$ less for the kit with eye tracking coupon or 250$ less without that 50$ coupon.
So giving up on all the stretch goals benefits you net 80$. The MAS comes either as included in the upgrade package or as part of the unaltered backers package. It’s just the question what all other stretch goals really mean for 80$ worth as I see it.

No @mazi, you are wrong.

It does not say anywhere that the MAS in the stretch goal is being applied to the upgrade. You are pulling that out of thin air.

What it does say is you’re getting $50 off to forfeit ALL the stretch goals.

EDIT: Neglecting all other stretch goals, $50 for a $120 MAS is just a bad deal.

I try to test, this is incorrect really?
I understand that the Out of All strech goal should be optional and infact we should keep all of reward without getting $50 discount.

If this isn’t an optional, I think pimax should announce that all reward are canceled instead.

No, not thin air. Just what i took from the video.

as far as I understood only one modular audio headstrap design will be available, not the two as shown in the shop… they say here comes with the comfort kit, new housing, new modular audio strap, upgraded panels, upgraded electronics, scaler can turn on and off, giant list of other things….

Cmon guys - everybody please see the whole video first b4 coming up with accusations…and bad feelings.

How long ago did they drop the price? If they did it in tandem with announcing these new headsets knowing people would want to sell their old ones to upgrade that’s a really crappy move.

Is this limited in time?

Or you can always update?

I believe @PimaxUSA said these discounts/campaigns are valid throughout 2019?

@mazi, please just do the math.

MSRP = $1299

  • minus $100 upgrade discount = $1199
  • minus $100 5k+ downgrade = $1099
  • minus $300 backer full package = $799
  • minus Eye-tracking stretch goal that turned into a $150 ‘discount’ = $649

Please help me understand where the MAS stretch goal (or any others) factor into the $649 option?

Yes, I saw that too.

But I wonder if that’s just for Backer?

The date is backer.
The other option has no date.

That’s not the impression I got, but maybe Kevin can clarify (if/when he gets to it amongst all the angry mob posts)…:grin:

I can tell you, Pimax fears a rash of RMAs by current owners who just want an upgrade.

People may in fact do RMA’s to spite Pimax, cos these are not deals at all!

Pimax really need to take another look at this!
As said, Plan D is worse than the Current Owners deal!

It’s gonna cost Pimax to return the RMA if people do that, and even if they dont:

It’s gonna cost Pimax to ship the lighthouses
It’s gonna cost Pimax to ship the MAS
It’s gonna cost Pimax to ship the Pimax Sword & Sense controllers - When ready
It’s gonna cost Pimax to ship the Eye Tracking - When ready
It’s gonna cost Pimax to ship the Wireless Module - When ready

You can see why they want people to lose their stretch goals!
Which is what all these “deals” are really about!

Which while tremendously dishonest and reprehensible is almost understandable considering these are the headsets that meet the specifications and vision laid out in the original Kickstarter. Then there are people like myself who have suffered from a faulty headset since day 1 who followed the forums closely enough to know that RMAing before now would have been disadvantageous.

I don’t want to get one over on Pimax, I want to pay them the difference of whatever they think the two headsets are worth. I just want to cut out the complication of a middle man. Especially if @DrWilken is right and I have to successfully complete the RMA process and have sold my replacement in the next two months if I don’t want to come out of pocket to take advantage of my backer “discount.”

I get there are honest guys like you, but the bad ones ruin it for the rest of us. If you want to try your luck MAYBE you will get some traction through a PM or support ticket, but I can reasonably see why they will not offer this to everyone.
