Move here to discuss ‘Pimax Day 2’

I guess that’s a start  I’m one hour in, do you know roughly where that is mentioned?

Ah OK thanks. Miss the crucial evening and playing catchup. So only $100 off, quite disappointing. Pretty much forces me to skip any kind of upgrade.

If I can’t use the $300 for the controllers and LHs against it as well, I think I’ll just have to insist on a refund

I think the reduction is $200 on the 8kx from the standard buy price for previous pre-orders/owners.

I’m not sure about any reductions for the LH and controllers. I haven’t watched the full stream tbh.

Ah OK yes you’re right. I think if that’s the only discount I can get, then I can’t really justify an upgrade.

If I can put the $300 from the controller + LH deposit towards one, then I’ll consider that. Will wait for an answer.

Two questions:

  1. Does the “Vision 8K Series Upgrade Plan for Current Owner” plan come with the MAS and comfort kit?
  2. If I went this route, could I still use the $100 coupon for my switch to the 5k+ against the upgrade to the Valve controllers?

I really don’t want to give up my stretch goal of a MAS for the headset sitting on my desk.

Don’t remember. Sorry…

No worries at least it’s in there somewhere, thx

I’ll ask support about my $300 deposit options

Look at the asterisk next to the price.

  • All prices include the use of the backer downgrade coupon.

Did you downgrade from the 8K or 8KX to the 5K+ to have a coupon to use?

Pretty sure that’s also covered…

Yes, 8k full package backer downgrade to 5K+

There are people with a $100 8-5K+ coupon who will not be taking advantage of buying backer discounts and buying another headset. Please confirm that those people still have their $100 coupon to apply in the Pimax store against Pimax items like controllers as was the original use.

Hello. Are you saying that the $100 (8K TO 5K+) downgrade coupon which we were informed could be used for anything from Pimax is useless… unless I give Pimax >$700 on a new headset that I don’t want?

Ooh that’s encouraging  I’ll watch the rest asap :+1:

As long as I can shift the deposit to the 8KX upgrade, or get refunded then the 8KX is within reach. Only the worst case where Pimax keep my money would be a problem!

I haven’t followed discussion all along in recent weeks. So I hope some could answer my questions even though I might have missed sth obvious… @PimaxUSA please also…

  1. The pimax shop doesn’t feat. any base stations today. Not with any of the offered headsets nor as separates. Do all new HMD - upgrades or not - ship without any base stations?

  2. The pimax shop doesn’t feat. any VR hand controllers today. Not with any of the offered headsets nor as separates. Do all new HMD - upgrades or not - ship without any base stations?

  3. I ordered an accessory - a single base station - as a backer during the campaign. Will any upgrade offer purchased still keep the accessory order valid until otherwise negotiated for rebates?

  4. The upcoming housings are said to be new built quality. Will all new accessories * also fit the current housings?

  5. The new upgrade offers run until end of year. Will we still receive any ready to ship free stretch goal earlier than next year? Like is the 3 times free software part of the trade in for upgrades?

  6. I’m a backer and therefore an owner. Can I simply benefit from taking the owner upgrade option so I don’t have to fear any loss of stretch goals?

*PS there is no sample pic for the green Silicon Protective Sleeve currently on the shop

$50 for ‘opting out’ of stretch goals is plain and simply a BAD DEAL for backers…Just on the MAS alone, it’s a horrible deal.

$300 to forfeit my full package (2 base stations, 2 controllers) when 2.0 base stations alone at Valve cost $300 is a BAD DEAL for full package backers.

ALL the presented options only benefit Pimax.

Don’t focus on the shiny, new HMD, just do the math and let it sink in.

To be perfectly clear, I want ALL my stretch goals now. I want my two (already paid for) 2.0 base stations now and the SwordSense controllers as soon as they become available.

Please direct me to the web page where I sign up for THAT option?

The current wording is certainly such that,
If I get to use the $100 downgrade coupon then I give up on getting a MAS for the 5K+ I have to resell to help cover the upgrade cost. That is definitely a loss to me.

https://store.pimaxvr.com/shop/product/vision-8k-series-upgrade-plan-for-current-owner-375?category=25

and since they dropped the price of the 5k+, the resell value has dropped with it! so even bigger hit!

yes, having the MAS on it will really help it sell, it makes the $$ shuffling required to get to/justify a 8K upgrade possible. It is hard at the moment, I can’t have it sitting around unsold for long.
