Guys, it appears that shipping isn’t free on the 8k X if you buy one right now. It was stated during Pimax Day 2 that shipping would be free *Where available. This is a mistake I assume, as even if you buy it in the US you have to pay shipping. This should definitely be taken care of quickly if it is a mistake, since it’s a 60$ mistake. @PimaxUSA

I have been waiting to RMA since the summer, my ticket is open and it has been accepted.
It was Matthew himself suggested I wait until the Pimax days so the new 5K+ was shipped.

How interesting! So if I RMA my unit I can expect to receive a new version of the 5K+? I have to give props where they are due. I am glad they aren’t going to slam another of the same panel that failed last time in my unit and ship it back. That should help with the resale value, still, that’s a lot of unnecessary shipping. I forgot to list earlier that I have a hand tracking unit added to my pledge so that’s even more wasted shipping. I’d like to just get the latest and greatest in one big box. Like I said, I’m happy to pay the difference.

Well Pimax can expect a huge influx of RMAs now!
Even if you wont be able to pay extra to upgrade to a better version, you still get the better housing one!
Pimax may as well do an Exchange Program now, they amount of work and the cost will be almost the same!
Wondering what happen if someone RMA`s an 8K, as it looks like they will get an 8K+ back now.
But the people that RMA a 5k+ only get a 5K+ back with no option to upgrade, or swap back to what they originally backed.

I’m wasn’t sure what ‘new’ involved before the Pimax days but I was told in August (by Dallas actually, I said it had been Matthew) if case cracks where the only issue could I carry on using it until the new optimised version was ready.
That is why I was happy to wait and see what happened. The new HMD with the MAS added would have good resale value so I would have options.
We were going to discuss other RMA options after the info had been released.
This is the crux of it. I appreciate you bringing it up because I couldn’t get my head outside of my own situation but now I see that the approach they take regarding 8K RMAs has direct implications for we 5K+ owners too! By the way, are you a fan of Bioman / Super Sentai?

I’m total new for pimax and don’t have anything yet. But i really want to buy bundle, but have some questions:
Pimax 8KX (may be with Deluxe audio strap) - 1299-1399$ ;
Eye tracking module - site store.pimaxvr.com doesn’t show option to buy it ;
2 x Basestations v2 - site doesn’t show option to buy it ;
Valve Index Controllers - site doesn’t show option to buy it ;
How i can buy these?
Taxes - how much does it cost?
Shipping - how much does it cost? (Russia, Moscow)
So how much $ i need to spend total?
When i can expect it to arrive? I’m ok with waiting, but want to know average date of shipping.

Theyre not coming anytime soon. Defiitely not beforw end of year, probably never.

Basestations V2 and the Index controllers you can buy from Valve https://store.steampowered.com/
In the Pimax store you can add the items you want to the shopping cart and let it do the math including shipping + taxes.

Thank you for reply. But i want to get bundle from pimax. In Video they said something about prices for Eye Tracking and Base stations+Controllers. But on site there are no option, even for preorder. Site still under construction?

Oh I am quite aware of that, but asked about this contradiction between on PD1 it was said that the MAS would ship 3rd week of Dec while for PD2 we have until year end tp parlay the stretch goals. Both can’t be correct so hoped that logic would lead to some clarification. More for the reason correcting information.
They said they were uploading keys for the software and why if those would also be forfeit in a purchase plan? That was said yesterday.
Strange, it shows me free shipping when upgrading to 8K + through “Upgrade Plan for Current Owner”.
And at the same time, when upgrading to 8KX according to the same plan, delivery becomes paid - $ 120 (where such prices come from, while shipping from Kickstarter was 2 times cheaper for me).
I would upgrade right now if the delivery is really free on 8K +. (by the way, when updating through “plans for backers”, delivery is also $ 120 for 8K + or 8KX)
It is unclear how now you can upgrade to 8K + or 8KX now, if the site is full of inconsistencies

As much as I would like to take the ‘Current Owner’ option, there is no provision for applying a 5k+ downgrade coupon.
I’m hoping this is just an oversight on the web page, as I have no intention of opting-out of the stretch goals or my full package. I am not giving Pimax free money.

As explained there is no loss of the MAS. It’s part of the upgrades HMDs. What you trade in is the other stretch goals for that 100$ backer rebate.
Not a good deal unless you don’t wanna any of the stretch goals. So nothing to write home about really. Either you take it or use the downgrade voucher as they promised on std shop items…
