i had the orginal yaw vr.
You can set the force like what ever you want with the software…so if you turn right it can do pulling you to the left if you want…
Their support is also amazing with their customers(he helped me alot)
So i am thinking to get the yaw II also again, its a amazing product, and a amazing company who care about their customers…
For this prize you wont get anything better, believe me…
This is built for flightsims and offers heave and simulating extra motion through the straps and the seat cushions. If recommend checking this video, it’s quite promising:
Hopefully a kickstarter is coming soon.
(…) currently work on designs for a car-racing AND flight variant of the seat and plan to launch the kickstarter campaing for initial production funding early this summer . If successfull, it would then enable them to take pre-orders for the first units to ship in time for Christmas. (…)
I think maybe the Heave is more important than the YAW. Imagine the jolt you get when jumping in Rally. The drop would be crazy. Although I guess the Yaw apparently lets you feel drifts.
I guess with out the YAW. What would they call it “YAW?VR”
They mentioned Buttkickers being mountable on the Pro Version. Which I intend to take advantage of but it seems they haven’t completely thought that one through.
It really doesn’t seem very big. The platform itself is less than the width and height of a gamer chair. The biggest part is the Curved part the seat attaches to.
Im hoping the foot rest could pop off easily when you aren’t using it, I would hate the have that sticking into my VR play area when not being used.
Jesus going through the checkout process and I get greeted with $415 in shipping charges. Thats absolutely ridiculous. I’ve had crates bigger then this shipped for half that price…
Well… backer #19 here with a ‘crazy early bird’ that I’m going to cancel. I’m going to wait for a potential future version that includes displayport/6dof et al, the idea of roof mounted cables is pretty nasty to me.
I don’t really have the space for this until I have an extension on my house that I’ve been planning (but can’t yet afford) anyway, and buying these kinds of things before their primetime (and replacing 2 years later with one actually feature-complete) are the reason I can’t afford it ;-). Bring on yaw3!
Happy to - first to PM me that wants to try grabbing the slot as it opens, let me know and we can try to coordinate. Apologies in advance to anyone that misses this opportunity.
To add to the point that you would configure it as you like, I actually don’t even see the issue:
But perhaps it was another video. Well, you can have it your way anyhow, so no issue.
The Bergison G-seat is intruiging, but has been around for a while I believe w/o becoming available - seems to now be potentially changing, great ! If that is kickstarted for a reasonable price I might just back it too and once I get the different rigs (backed FeelThree too back then but that will probably not arrive anytime soon…), I can compare them and sell off the one I like the least.
What exactly are you referring to ? The Yaw platform AddOn offers the yaw DoF. Nothing else. Roll & pitch are the DoF’s of the base Yaw 2 platform (yes, all a bit awkward in the naming department).
So 3 DoF available to back today.
The G- or gravity platform offers to add heave, but is still under development, no working prototype available yet.
And then they actually plan to offer a combined G- and yaw platform in a box, so with both yaw and heave DoF’s. They said you cannot staple a G-platform AddOn on or under the yaw platform AddOn, so either you take yaw, G- or the combined platform AddOns, but one AddOn seems to be the max you can apply.
Going back to your expensive comment: honestly, if it were cheaper I would not believe that it has any chance to work well at all. Compared to other motion rigs on the market this is still very lowly priced, so I am still a bit cautious if the quality will prove good enough to pull it off.
Just google motion rig and check out the prices of these rigs, and I believe you will rather want to say cheeeaaaap afterwards…
I have backed it (no.26), but I am still just very slightly nervous about the quality to expect for their pretty low price point.
Yeah me too, did you back the pro base or vanilla? Because if you want the built in usb hub to travel up through the platform you need the pro base.
Looks like the footrest is removable.
I don’t disagree and no offense was intended but expensive is a relative term.
I’ve spent more on VR since 2016 than I’ve spent on any other non-essential activity in my life (thanks Pimax). Hopefully this will be the last one. … yeah right)
the only problem I see is that my twcs throttle when in the fully tilted back position is going to be impossible to let go of since it will drop down
Okay, I clearly misunderstood your comment - this passion is expensive, indeed.
But I still consider myself incredibly lucky to be able to witness & enjoy the gaming development of the past 5 years. If I had known as a kid what kind of gaming immersion would be waiting for me in my older years, boy, I would have gone crazy. This is effectively going to be an arcade at home, no, even better: almost a poor man’s holo deck !
Having already felt completely immersed when I played the original Elite on my C64 it would have blown my mind to know that one fine day I might be sitting in a motion chair with proper HOTAS and a vision as if I was truly inside the space craft…
We simply are blessed.
Others spend a lot of money on their car, clothing, some social status-inducing gear, whatever - this is where I spend my portion of money I can spare… that is the distinct advantage of not being a kid or a student with no money, but an over-aged boy with a job paying enough to be able to afford this kind of stuff
Wait now I’m confused. I don’t see an option for the G platform, so if I want to have both the G platform along with the yaw platform I have to wait to get them both as one single unit? If I back the yaw 2 pro along with the yaw platform pro do I loose out on the ability to get the G platform at a later date when they release it?
I took the base Yaw 2 and then added the Yaw Pro discounted upgrade since I’m a Feelthree backer, then I added the Yaw Platform and then added the Pro upgrade to it. This seems to me to be the cheapest way to to get everything included. But again I don’t see anything about the G Platform.
