I had to pay taxes, I paid $123 in total. Shipping was $60 as well.

I bought this through my business account. I put in my VAT number and I still got charged!
Business rules state that no VAT is payable on production of a valid VAT number when importing into the UK yet I still got charged! I also didn’t get the option I asked for which was option keeping my eye tracking discount.
I’ve asked them why I’ve been charged and haven’t had a response. What Pimax are doing is illegal, you can’t charge me VAT if I don’t pay VAT and the VAT you’re charging me goes in your pocket not the government that I reside in!
If I don’t hear back from Pimax soon I will cancel my order and go to Paypal to claim a refund.

This is due to differences in taxes in EU countries.
We will refund the tax to you who have already paid the tax, and we have removed the part of the tax, but we will not bear the tax. It will have to be borne by yourselves. Thank you.

How can we be sure that we won’t be paying taxes twice if You’re sending/shipping from Shanghai?
It would be better to:
- Send from EU/US without tax
- Send from SH without tax
If we get hit by tax it’s our problem but You would need to specify where You’re sending from and that tax might be applied.

Taxes plus shipping is 220 dollar for me. That might hold me off from buying I’m afraid. It’s just too much in total

Well… If customs or our local delivery service does not break open the box and invoice you for both import duty and VAT, it is our own responsibility to report and pay up, so I guess there is no such thing as “might”, as long as we’re not trying to shirk our duties - death and taxes, and all that. :7

Pimax shoud have care of backers
i am making an example to be clear
I am a Pimax 8K X backer full package, i live in Italy
My contribution was $999 to Pimax (Nov 2017) but i paid $1051 for shipping costs.
Shipping costs are included if after 2 years you are sending first 8K X and then basestations and controllers this is not a problem of mine.
PLEASE I WOULD NOT LIKE TO PAY TWO TIMES SHIPPING COSTS.
But i would like to tell you that this is my first VR System so i cannot play until Pimax send me BS and Controllers
WHEN YOU SEND PIMAX 8K X PUT GREAT ATTENTION TO THE PRICE YOU WRITE ON THE PACKAGE because every backer is paying IVA (in italy is 22%) AND CUSTOMS Calculated on that price
In my case:
the cost of Pimax 8K X is $699
shipping cost is $52
customs is $0
22% of $751 is $165,22
at the change i will pay 148,06 euro to the postman
NOTE I WILL PAY $0 OF CUSTOMS IF PIMAX PUT ON THE BOX THE TARIC CODE

could we have a table of taxes depending on the country and know if you expect to send the products directly from the EU to remove them? @Matthew.Xu @SweViver

No for Germany there are no taxes added in the shop - they where there but got removed on the Weekend - so either we pay them when it’s in Germany or there is a warehouse that makes it easier for us …
