HTC is back! Vive pro 2 with 2.5k * 2.5k per eye @ 120 hz

You need to turn off smoothing in ViTool and fpsVR

Go to your fpsVR settings → basic → smoothing

You will notice that smoothing is set to ENABLE.
Change it to DISABLE and you won’t have automatic smoothing anymore :+1:

Just to be clear, fpsVR is seperate app, you can download it from Steam.
Do you have it?

For me that was the solution. It doesn’t go to 45fps when I have less than 90

Mmm if they sort out the tracking bugs and performance issues and pretty quick i think ill just sell my 8kX Apart from the sound as mentioned i can live with this one. Better colors, sharp image, better and no ghost motion smoothing. No motion smoothing frame lag over 75% GPU like Pimax has in DCS (yes its only Pimax and not a DCS issue) and most of all no eyestrain.

Smart smoothing working for you? I have huge artefacts.

For me its very strange… have smart smoothing off everywhere, but when i play a game like dcs its for sure activated… And works somehow fluid…

Very strange, for some games i want to turn it off but i cant.

Nothing with this HMD seems to be properly working at the moment but i do get some artifacts when its not keeping say 45 fps. And there’s this weird small sone of lower res to the lower left at times it seems.

The software is so full of bugs i cant believe they release it

Edit. Seems its fighting each other. If i turn it off it will hold 45 fps but its ghosting. On it struggles to hold 45 you get artifacts but no ghosting when moving around

Sure, but even on small its still large.

Mrtv was saying it was like going from a 4x3 tv to a 16x9

But 16x9 would suck if you scaled it down to fit within the same 4x3 box, hence why it seems smaller.

Yeah me too, I have the lens mod on my OG Vive and I think I know why.

The lens profile is a bit off and there is a bit of warping.

Do you happen to own technolust?

I find the apartment where you start the game is the real test of black levels.

When that game was made, the only headsets out at the time were oled and that scene has alot of diffused lighting and the blacks occupy the lower spectrum.

Looking at that scene on every lcs based headset I own has looked disgusting by comparison.

I find that HL:Alyx was designed knowing the limitations of dark ranges available on lcds. because i notice that even the darkest seens on the OG Vive do actually appear black.

I didn’t notice that at all

I like warping , I am a Pimax user
