I bought the vive used in dec of 2018 so that i could have base stations and controllers for when i got the pimax in feb 2019.

and yes I have used it recently (not much) with the index at least once.

im not sure if that matters since any purchase of index hard ware should qualify you.

I still remember the response I got back from valve support when i was worried about getting alyx .

They specifically told me “thanks for supporting index hardware”

so i don’t think they actually care how you got it.

I actually feel a bit better after that because im sure my ebay knuckles have the click issue and I think valve will cover me under warranty.

Well if you have the index hmd that might be why it showed up. Valve did originally say used hardware purchases would not qualify. But they seem to be having issues. :laughing:

I finally got it on my library, but not automatically. It is the result of a ticket I had with Steam Support to ask their advice on the situation.

@PimaxQuorra, please advise the proper procedure to acquire Alyx for all Plan F purchases.

Other Plan F people, have you seen Alyx arrive yet?

They explicitly enabled it for me, not because I had controllers but probably to get me to go away. It was “per their discretion as a customer service effort”.

Sure he can do that. The question is what is the process? It was stated that Pimax spoke to valve to confirm that people who bought through Pimax get it. There was no process discussed?

If that’s the case I hope Pimax consider sending a Kickstarter email to all backers, as we’ve been told in the past “it will happen automatically” and also that only 2% of users are active on the forums enough to catch your post.

If you have already receive the Index Set, we suggest you to submit the ticket at Steam Support.

If the game is not added to your library automatically, this is the alternative way to redeem it.

Valve is having problems with Deployment in general. 2nd hand purchases like on Ebay were not supposed to receive it at all and have. Some have received multiple free copies by attaching Index to other steam accounts.

I don’t know why Valve didn’t use Serial numbers to ensure no duplicate copies were sent out.
