VR is a technology, not only a gaming platform. The thing the politicians (at least those who I have read) want to ban, is the violent gaming (whatever it is), not the use of the computers (or even the gaming consoles).
There is a huge potential for VR in business. There always has been a strong demand for a good data visualization in many domains - design, architecture, construction, scientific research - in training simulations, and even in a real operations - i.e. surgery, etc. - which by far surpasses the gaming aspect. So I would not be worried about the techâs future.
Well My wife has never been into gaming, she just dose not get it or see the point, yet US nut ceases look at a game like half life, and see all the tech and programing wonders, and good graphics, and cant wait to play it.
BUT, My wife played Beat Saber and I could not get her off it, she even arranged a party for some of are friends one evening and we all had a blast, are friends are not into gaming ether, but this game just fitted well with them, there is no way half life would do the same thing and hold there interest for more that 20 minutes.
I would say Beat Saber got more people in to VR than a lot of the other games because it simple game to play.
Its just us NUTCASES like a bit more of a challenge.
Yes, they definitely thought about because it would have increased sales of the index even more. I would think theyâd want to have the game out for the holidays but there is still around 5 months to its release. So they probably didnât have a definitive time when it might be shipped. Also they were most likely just trying to get production of the index going and wouldnât even have that many indexâs ready to sell, it sold out at launch and right now itâs sold out again.
Well I ordered My controllers from steam on the 21st, and according to the tracking they should be here Monday or Tuesday.
Have Pimax started shipping ANY controllers yet ?
No word from pimax on any index controller shipments. @Konger it has been asked if pimax purchased index controllers qualify for Valveâs free Half Life: Alyx deal?
A fellow user has told me it seems to be linked to oneâs Valve(Steam) account on purchase. Have the team verified if pimax consumers will get this game with purchase of Valve Index controllers?
Unfortunately that is likely the case. A friend said he bought off of ebay and does not have the free Half life. I believe he said itâs linked to the steam account purchase.
If so, those whom are buying from pimax will need to wait for Konger to hear back from Valve after sales as posted.
The trailer was obviously full of bullsh!t (whether weâre talking about the graphics clearly intended for not representing what will be displayed in the headset, or some interactions like leaning on a wall by taking support with your hand), but you cannot stay emotionless in front of it.
Whatâs strange is that the game is supposed to be offered to Valve Index owners, but I already have it in my library although I only bought the controllers.
But what you donât know is if there will be any issues whatsoever, so I donât see assuming something not in evidence.
I wouldnât worry before the facts are in. Frankly I expect it to run quite well given how well my Steam library runs.
If you are having issues with Steam/OpenVR on your rig or with certain titles then ymmv.
