There is a recent topic on this. Please send @Alex.liu a pm with serial number and details.
Estimated not guaranteed is what I was informed with being given the release.
I will ask @Alex.liu as yes this detail should be in the release notes as this is quite a huge miss and will affect many. I haven’t had a change to test this version out as of yet.
Or if for some reasons internet at home is unavailable?
This is a VERY good point. What if internet doesn’t connect, what happens then?
then the same thing happens as with the steam server
Nothing Happens as with Steam you can play offline. If pitool requires the internet as mentioned above it could be a different story.
Either way this needs to be fixed.
Really? There is a way to say ti steam, dont call at home? Crazy
Hello,
This issue should be resolve right now, the SN has been updated.
Sincerely,
Quorra.Pimax
You can “go offline” voluntarily in which case steam pretends you are offline but actually still keeps tabs on you. Then you can actually be offline such as no internet connection, in which case steam doesn’t call home but you can still play (most games).
Why do I get the feeling that there will be ‘cracked’ versions of pitool showing up or source code with removed security to run these headsets in the future…
The plan is to open the source code. Then we can remove (or add) anything we want.
My understanding is that only covers the PiTool code. Nothing has be said about the drivers, which probably will not be made open source. Likewise nothing has been promised regarding the new “Experience” app.
Sorry, why do pimax serial numbers need validating…?
Is somebody producing knockoff pimax headsets that run via pitools?
