Even “Trump” like you mentioned earlier has communication skills…
they lied, they hide things and they don’t want to answer directly.I think this is a total mess.

I’m sorry but the problem is not market research. The problem is shooting for the moon without the clear capability of delivering. It’s a very ambitious project, maybe more than it should be.
And that force them to create problems while solving others, without being able to balance it.
What they need is to put their feet on the floor and compromise some, to get well in the bigger picture. AND improve a WHOLE LOT their communication and openness, as they promised they would.
About the pimax5k, we have 0 news on it. Hell knows how it is going.
Anyway, I don’t believe that nobody will be wanting to receive their version now in january, after these reviews!
I still believe they can pull through, but as time goes by, it is starting to seem less and less probable.

Unfortunately kickstart dont allow a refund. I dont mind the headset still having problems and waiting a few months, but this lack of comunication with the backers is very worrisome.
You did a apology letter, and said that you learned the lesson but apparently you did not.
“Here we have learned the lessons and take some actions to prevent such thing happen again.”
“Action 1 - We will share our progress with the community more frequently. especially when we find some new issues or challenges.” - Did not happen
“Action 2 - We will provide better training for our reps to make sure they only answer the questions that they know clearly. If they are not sure, we will make sure they get back to the team to get answers instead of to give a rough guess.” - Did not happen
“Action 3 - We will provide better training to teach the team becomes more effective in internal and external communication. especially for new staffs.” - Did not happen
Since we’re going to have to wait, we need more info, photos, videos. keep the kickstarter comunity alive and happy (not a litle topic info of each version and become silence almost a month)
But I’m honestly not seeing this happen, if pimax not not hire someone.

Co-ordinator is not engineering or programmer, they just get some detail for reporting to people and updating the information and get the feedback to the engineering and programmer. We can give feedback for the improvement, but don’t use emotion too much because those emotion will not report to the engineering. I believe that the engineering team are trying to solve all of these issues everyday.
Although engineering tell that, don’t use the new prototype at the CES, but the marketing will not think like the engineering because the old prototype will make people to get more disappointed.
We should understand the company process and duty of each person.
Pimax have ever told that they are using around 70 percent of display and people request to get more area, we know these since kickstarter and they are working on the commitment.
In my country has a proverb that I do not know how to translate it correctly into English. But it seems they are trying to change the tire of the car with the car moving.
It is time to draw up a factual plan, to review the deadlines and stick to what is right and not bet on doubts.

Well guys I sure as hell hope they haven’t ordered 10,000 of these CLPL displays already. What a disaster. I think they need to bite the bullet and re design the whole thing. Star by reducing the FOV
Vive has already show their hand. Pimax should take a step back and re think their strategy

At least, RoadtoVR review details very clearly all the points that need improvement :
- Artifacts on the sides of the screen (if it can solve the pb, please reduce the FOV to 180, something like that. I think most backers would agree on that point)
- Mura
- Tracking
(plus the 90Hz, the controllers and the strap …)
There’s some work to do but even if it takes time, please do it well !!

Tracking = uncover tracking holes, = fixed

LOL so this was a HUGE fail, even by Pimax’s own standards. Easily $200.000 down the drain and the results ? bad press and angry backers. Well done Pimax, LOL. I don’t even know where to start with things that they’ve done incredibly stupidly wrong, but man … it’s just depressing that they DO NOT EVEN LISTEN to what the people on the forum say. We had whole discussions that '8k" was NOT the strong selling point. Magazines will mention it’s NOT really 8k (just like RoadtoVR just did of course) and it will only result in Pimax looking like scammers. Instead, the strong selling point was the 200 degrees Fov. Then look at the CES demo stand, ‘8K VR’ in huge letters and no word mentioning 200 FoV. While we had discussed this over and over. They just don’t care and keep making the same STUPID decisions.
Well, you guys are now $200.000 out of pocket, now have this bad press and reviews and your product is VERY VERY far away from being released with all the current problems. I think we’re now talking Q4 2018 the earliest. And that in the end is the worst part here, 2018 is going to suck for the VR fans… Man I now even might buy that damn Vive Pro unit. Sigh.

What a disaster, it sounds like it’s another year from being finished. Not only are the most basic of functions not working but we haven’t seen a single prototype of the controllers yet
After reading some reviews of the new version of the Pimax, I think we all are very disappointed. What´s wrong? I mean how can a company make their way to the ces in Las Vegas, when they have such an unfinished product, which should be ready for customers in march??? I mean, is this thing not tested? Who are the testers? It seems (because everybody reports the same issues), there is everything wrong. The lenses, the displays, the IPD, the whole hmd… If this would be my project, I never would present it the whole world in this current state… That´s really bad for business and it makes Pimax everything else than a competitor to the big ones like Oculus or HTC…unfortunately.
Please say, that I haven´t thrown 800 bucks out of the window…!?! Maybe the whole project was a step tooooo high…

@Pimax you have certain that you will be able to do a headset with 200 fov, 4k upscaled with 90hz, no god rays and without the all Artifacts , focus problems in the lens, and low brigtness?
its not possible to reduce the fov to 170/80, and use oled screens at 90hz? perhaps backers will prefer a little less in fov and better quality in screen and lens?

I´m glad that Oculus and HTC made the first VR HMD´s because they are really good and a full success. Otherwise the whole VR idea would die again… They understand their marketing.
Sry Pimax, I´m sure you want the best, but I think you are tooo small for high end products and you need some specialists and really good people asap.
I cannot speak for everyone here, but I DO NOT sanction a change in spec to lower FOV at all.
I backed this project at 200 degree FOV, and will accept nothing less - and I am fully prepared to wait till Jan 2019 if I must.
I dont mind to, i just ask if its possible to have 200 fov and good lens/screen at the same time.

yes, the V3 had almost 200 FOV and the mask was almost perfect from the returns, so it’s achievable
