I use this key bind to recenter in AC

I tried this guide but canât get my brightness correct. I had SOL installed and the only way I can get it to work is if I enable the SOL filter. Changing the brightness settings in lighting FX doesnât do anything. Is it all messed up because I have SOL installed?
I have also SOL mod used as filter, well I do not mess up with brightness slider recenty becouse we have brighntess and saturations options in beta PiTool .121 and latest.
Did you just leave the sol filter turned on?
yes , and choosed âclear skyâ in options
Because I must leave post processing OFF Iâm using HDR_OFF_MULT to tweak exposure level.
But this will only work in single player. In multiplayer I think the HDR_OFF_MULT value is driven by the server you connect to, ignoring any change you would have made to this value on your local file.
Anyone know a way to bypass this and be able to change exposure when playing on a server ? (multiplayer)
After doing tests by hosting my own server I can confirm the server is imposing the HDR_OFF_MULT value to clients.
So still looking for any trick that would let the client bypass this and force the game use the local HDR_OFF_MULT value when driving on a MP server.
Does any of this explain why when I join a sever, itâs so dark at times in certain conditions compared to what other drivers are seeing in the same server? I turned Post Processing off as I found the gain in FPS remarkable with the 5K+ but I have trouble with very dark weather conditions at times.
Good news, local HDR_OFF_MULT value is in fact taken into account when playing online (= HDR_OFF_MULT value from the server is not taking the lead over your local value. I first thought it was but it seems I just mis-saved my local file when I first tested that. I have tested again and this time the local value was applyed when connecting to a server).
So there are 2 ways to set exposure when you play on a server:
1°) You play with post processing desactivated: then you need to change the HDR_OFF_MULT value in the local weather file (the same weather type that the server you connect to is using, like clear, mid-clear, etc).
2°) You play with post-processing activated: then the value you want to change is âexposureâ of the post processing filter you have selected in your assetto PP options, AND you must ensure HDR is activated in this PP filter, AND âauto-exposureâ must be desactived.
With content manager those files can be edited through the âcontent/miscellaneaousâ tab, then âweatherâ or âPP filtersâ depending on if you play with post-processing activated or desactivated.
Donât forget to save your changes ! (save button in the bottom tab of content manager)
Or you can just edit those files manually if you donât use content manager.
Iâll have a look into this. Thanks for the info!
Thanks for the tips!
Anybody here have a computer strong enough to be able to run the post process effect into AC with their pimax and be able to keep 90fps ?
On my side I can push the envelop to the maximum pretty much everywhere with Pitool at 1.25 and steam at 76% on large FOV but without the post process effect enable and I get my 13 100 points into the Benchmark with an average of 88.4 FPS.
As soon as I enable the post process effect even with low or minimum the benchmark is always at 45 FPS with smart smoothing in function pretty much all the time during the AC benchmark .
I run the game with latest SOL and shader light patch.
CPU is a Ryzen 7 1700 overclock at 3 850 MHZ.
GPU is MSI 1080TI Gaming X running at 2000MHZ.
Iâm wondering if I bought a new Ryzen 3000 series to have a CPU as fast as an Intel I7 8700K or I9 9900K if it will allow me to gain a 15-20 FPS to be able to maintain the 90fps bar and avoid to surf on smarth smoothing.
I like to enable the post process effect because the color and contrast are a bit better with SOL ppfilter. The sunray effect, the windshields effect that make the windshield have dirt in it for a more realistic perception, the tarmac reflection and overall look into the cockpit seem better to me.

I might give this a try tonight, but my 8K maxes out at 80 fps.
You can increase the contrast, in the beta PiTool.
You need to reduce your SS or the FOV. Itâs asking way too much of it to still get 90hz with PP enabled. Iâve tested both and post process literally costs 30% performance, for whatever reason, Running SOL you should actually see better performance that with standard PP but still, Large FOV with what is basically 100% SteamVR SS (taking into account the 1.25 PiTool setting) is too much for a 1080Ti. I can run 90hz at around 7M pixels per eye. Thatâs using Normal FOV, but if you want to use Large thatâs fine, just lower the SS resolution until you achieve the same amount of overall pixels per eye.
I know you prefer without post process effect. I tried the nordscheilfe without post process and I didnât liked the tarmac look and color in my Pimax 5K when I compare with my rift s with post process On and saturation color to 85%-90%.
With the post process off, I run Pitool contrast at +2, brightness high, brightness at zero on the Pitool slider.
MSI afterburner is showing on the graph that my GPU utilisation varie between 60 and 70% only with a temperature staying between 54 and 62. If I could find a way to raise it to 80-90% I could have an additional gain.
Assetto Corsa does NOT need Parallel Projections, so if youâve got it on, turn it off (in PiTool). That will give you a decent framerate boost. For both these tests, I have PiTool quality at 1.0 and SteamVR set to Automatic.
With high graph settings, I get 60-75 fps, which looks and plays great. If I turn the settinngs down, especially Effects and Reflections, I get 80 fps almost all the time. I have an i7 8770K, 16GB, and a factory-overclocked RTX 2080.
Hereâs my high (and preferred) settings:
Hereâs my lowered (fast fps) settings (lowered AA to 2X, reduced shadows, effects, and reflections):
