World scale too big

Now I have my 5k+ my concern besides comfort is world scale. I noticed this as soon as I put the hmd on and seen steamvr menu. It’s quite a noticeable difference. I have an iPd of 64mm so I’m pretty lucky there.

Could we get the world scale a bit smaller. In Skyrim I changed world scale from 72 that I had with the odyssey to 75 which mad it smaller and now seems to be correct.

Is it just me cause I searched but couldn’t see anyone else mention it.

yes definitely. I’m currently messing with the distortion parameter file to see if there’s an easy fix.

Which headset did you receive?

Can you explain what you mean by “world scale”. I notice everything is much larger in my5K+ than it was in my Pimax 4K.

5k+, seems I jumped the gun. The left audio channel has stopped working. If I push the audio plug slightly away from hmd it starts working again.

Like everything is bigger than it should be. Just played Arizona sunshine and the zombies are bigger than in other hmd. But even the steamvr menu is bigger than other hmds. So it’s everything that is bigger. Unfortunately bigger does not mean better

Yea I wish it could be more to scale. I noticed the same thing. Might be because of the wider FOV

That’s funny. I find everything a bit too small, like I did in my rift.

If I set Skyrim to default scale it’s very noticeable. Everything is huge. Just looking at your hands and they look massive

blame the lazy game devs for not giving that option, only games i know that have it are pcars2 and skyrim lol

It’s nice those two games have scale adjustments. But this goes beyond that and is system wide that needs adjusting. I think it would be a good idea to have a config file that settings that the average person doesn’t need to know about should be in there

Same thing here, went from 68 world scale i was using with Pimax 4K to 71. Much better now, immersion is back :grinning:. Looks like there really is something off with reported IPD and scaling, at least in Skyrim. On the other hand, Il2 and Assetto Corsa look spot on to me now.

Yes I noticed this in City Car Driving. The cabin is obviously larger on Pimax. I just took out my old Vive for comparison and it confirms my feel. It’s not so obvious in other games, maybe because they are mostly open space and hard to notice the scale.

Do you not notice the steamvr desktop? The writing is larger

I havn’t pay attention to that. I have packed my Vive up. Will give another comparison when I have time.

I do notice everything is bigger as well, I feel like I stand way taller…so much so that I find myself checking to see if the floor was set correctly multiple times

It would be great if Pitool could include a world scale adjustment option. Some games have this option, such as Project Cars. Some games do not have this option, such as City Car Driving.

I edited too in SkyrimVR  and it has a tremendous immersive effect if you do. But it really felt off to me too before, despite never have been playing it on the OG Vive. In Arizona didn’t bother me that much.

Yup, I had to decrease world scale in both Skyrim and Fallout. It was waay too big in default.

I just said “Hey Mountain! you’re too big!” …and scaled it down. Then came the giant with his mammoth. It didn’t went well for them too.
