VR News for 2024

HI @Djonko, yes, I have been using both a Magic Keyboard as well as a Magic trackpad for quite a while by now and it works really well.

Do you have an Apple silicon Macbook(Pro), iMac or mac Mini? If you do, get beta 2.2 for AVP and the most recent dev beta for macOS: the new Mac virtual desktop is astoundingly good, with a special mention to the 32:9 ultrawide option. macOS does ET-based foveated rendering on the mac side, so they can really push the resolution on the virtual screen and the quality is insane.

(just ordered a MacBook Pro M4 Max  )

Awesome! No I dont have any Apple gear myself but honestly getting tempted to buy a Macbook too! I just did order an apple keyboard and mouse, first going to find out how I like running teamviewer via my AVP

Indeed that the AVP test run is complete and they are winding that s segment down to focus on the next steps of consumer devices.

Looks interesting but then again, it’s Seb. He always needs an HMD to cheer to get his views, so I’m having a hard time actually forming an opinion on this HMD between all the ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’.

I’ll most likely not get another PCVR HMD that isn’t DP2.1 based, given we finally get the full bandwidth with RTX50.

Same. The Quest3 without DP is just a shimmery mess (sim racing). I’m back on the G2 reluctantly due to that. Just need a better Q3 with DP2.1 and I’m good.

The Q3 resolution fits quite comfortably into DP1.4

It’s higher res HMDs like Varjo 3 and 4 series or the Crystal that are held back by DP1.4 because using DSC comes with increased instability as the compression ratios (and frame rates) go up.

Yeah just a shame there’s no option for native DP on the Quest3! if there was a version with it, I’d rebuy immediately.

Did anyone else see the new Valve Index controllers?

Yeah. As a knuckles fanboy I currently consider this a devolution.

But obviously holding out until tried myself.
