Wow this should be sticked
There are probably better schematics or thereâŚ
The core of my question is that the lighthouses are dumb. They just emit infrared light and the optional Bluetooth is only used to power it on or off and the casual firmware update.
The controllers perceive the infrared light and send the telemetry thru wireless to the dongle connected to a PC.
Then the dongle receive the data, send it to the PC that parse it and give to the software the final entity location in the virtual space.
I know they have the sensors that perceive the infrared ,
my question is if the pimax have said dongle inside it ?
ExactlyâŚ
It must have, yes. I believe itâs part of the SteamVR âpackageâ.
The basestations are just used to extend the cables a bit and ensure stable power delivery to the Vive. Besides that it contains a Bluetooth module to enable wireless update and power on/off of the basestations.
It is settled in stone then. Great
Goto Bluetooth devices & refresh. Tge headset has 2 Valve Watchman radios built into the headset for controllers.
Also, it is possible to use a generic bluetooth dongle to power down the Lighthouses ?
Another strange thing, one of my lighthouses is entering in standby mode just fine, but the other kept emiting thru all night. Is there any configuration to do in it ?
Noy sure. I have a bluetooth but no lighthouses.
Anyways, i´m going to try as soon as i find a dongle/adapter.
Vive trackers apparently not working anymore. Anybody have confirmation?
In the same boat as you, canât pair more then 2 controllers. The best I get is helio posting long convoluted methods on how it âmightâ work if done correctly.
Better question if you have a Vive have you tested to see if itâs broken there?
& have you tested the method if pairing ti dongles (1 pee or 2 per)? From what your saying SteanVR is broken?
@MarcoBalletta are you having trouble with your trackers?
The problem is 2 trackers can pair, they wont pair as legs or waist but controllers, if you turn them off and turn another on it will work but only 2 can be paired.
You cant pair with steamvr because it doesnât see an active vr headset.
Its simple?
Well yes & if you read @CMMâs post he mentions how to pair trackers without a headset. A more recent post by a new user is that he can pair 2 wands & 1 tracker. Canât get his additional 2 to work.
But donât know if he has used the method described. Has anyone checked on a Vive to see if itâs fully working?
Iâve been using three Vive Trackers with PiTool 121 and SteamVR 1.5.12 without issues.
To make sure everything is paired to the correct watchman endpoints correctly, unplug your Vive tracker dongles and pair the controllers to the headset, then with the controllers still turned on and paired, plug the Vive tracker dongles back in and pair each tracker.
For each new play session after the initial pairing, switch on the controllers first, then switch on each tracker one at a time to make sure they all register in SteamVR.
I tried the no headset pairing, but it broke my VR for hands, as I have the index controllers, that means index controller users canât use that method sadly. Really hoping Pimax hurries up with a hotfix version. Itâs been way to long for this as is.
Hi! I have never tested the vive trackers with the pimax. I have used them only with the vive and i am not using the vive for long time now, so i have not using the trackers for sooo long . Sorry i can not help with this
I have been investing so much time in locomotion for non vr games for gaming in vr hedset for a while now and hence i have not looked into anythig else
Index controllers work, but their is an issue that needs to be fixed. You canât pair with steamvr because it doesnât see the pimax as a headset?
I paid a lot for these trackers they arenât cheap and it saddens me that this problem isnât really being addressed.
I get index should be priority but Please if you guyâs could try and figure out this issue I wont need to think about buying alternative headsets that actually work with steamvr.
