Would be nice to know if this was taken from the 5K or 8K? Two pictures side by side to compare SDE would help

given it was taken specifically to put in the pipe of people talking about sde issues i would guess 8k. in either case, while we donât now how much of the lens this is, if a 4k user can take a picture where top and bottom of lens is not visible, and sde is similar, then at worst the sde on 8k is as good as 4k.

I agree, it would be very helpful particularly if you add the 4K to it as well. But I do also recall when Pimax was showcasing their âVâ models around in the early days⌠there were plenty of people who wrote that the SDE is very diminished but NOT completely gone.

Nvidia send me a 2080ti to test and I sign an NDA.
I tell them itâs not very good in comparison to my 1080ti and that I expected more from a newer generation. Also raytracing is rubbish and destroys my FPS.
They ignore my advice and release it anyway without sending me another newer testing unit.

Only those who spend hours a day in the virtual world and have tried out all types of headsets are eligible to claim what the best VR experience is.
We are glad to have a community full of such enthusiasts - many of you have witnessed the evolution of the home computer and consumer VR, even the early wave of VR headsets back in the 90âs.
Like in all emerging industries, enthusiasts play a crucial role in pushing the boundaries of VR. In fact, the inspiration of Pimax 8K stems from the interactions with enthusiasts in this community. For the last two years, you have been contributing thoughts and feedback based on your experience with 4K, (and other headsets), which in turn has allowed us to build and shape 8K.
We are about to start a round of closed beta testing for the Pimax 8K M1 prototype. The goal is to have some of you to test the prototypes from both professional and enthusiastâs perspective, and let the Pimax team know how the experience matches up to your expectations. All feedback, suggestions for minor tweaks, and of course your time, is greatly appreciated!
Here are the steps for the closed beta:
We will email our chosen testers to confirm their participation (around 10 in total, to account for availability of headsets and manageability of the program), starting this week
We will start shipping to the testers as soon as M1 testing units are ready.
Testers inform Pimax team when they have received the units
Shortly after, we will announce the testers in the forum
Testers answer a standarized questionnaire from Pimax team - the questionnaire will let you know what stage to complete it at during testing and when to have it finished by
Testers join the closed discussion and communicate with Pimax team - Login details for the closed forum will be shared alongside the questionnaire
Testers agree on a release date that allows all testers to have time to organize the reviews - this can take place in the forum
After the testing period is over and we head into the release day, testers can now answer questions engage in the open forum with the rest of the Pimax community about M1 and their experiences

@Heliosurge: this thread is being hijacked by a one-man commando, determined to repeat his points which we have read numerous times already. Could you please separate that part into a different stand-alone thread. Just look at the sheer number of posts, and I am not even starting to mention the content (threatening law suits ? Really? Can it get any lower?)
I have had enough of this, but I am actually interested in the rest of the discussion in this thread and that annoys me that the communication is being obstructed.

But the thread is about reviews coming up? Personally Iâm here for a dual 4k device and would love to hear reviews from all 10 testers especially the ones explaining what went wrong with the 8k. Did you expect the thread to be tailored to your liking lol

Maybe this whole forum needs a 24 hour lock downâŚwe all want vr to move forward but not at snailâs pace like some larger companies and there shareholders would loveâŚall I have is vive of which I was part of pre order. I want pimax to make a larger step then what we ve seen from other companiesâŚ

Couldnt care less about selling my pledge to be honest. I can pre order next month but first I need to know the benifits of the 8K first?? Im not interested in a 1440p device with CV2 on the horizon. Thatâs what I backed in the fist place. A dual 4K device
@Sjef as you are very familiar with the 4k, here is just a thought and pls correct me if Iâm wrong since I only read about the 4k and never experienced it myself.
I know that certain negative side effects sometimes tend to cover up stuff.
Letâs say the blurriness of the PSVR (think it is sort of filter) and also probably blurriness of the 8k (due upscaling) reduces SDE to a certain level, in my opinion a bad trade-off but this is purely subjective of course. So it is known that the 4k suffers from extreme ghosting which also may cover up the perceived SDE. If that is the case it may be hard to compare the two devices 1:1

Funny how ppl who actually backed this project seem more relax about this product and reaction towards the Berlin test impressions are more positive than the ones not backing.
I wonder why.
I hope they stop this crap, because I didnt come here to read about moaners, I just want info on 8k. review will be out in a few days anyway.

@Sjef stop your crap. As you have not seen any of the iterstions first hand you have no actual clue to what your posting. Why donât you spend some & goto thr next public event instead of looking like a fool. If I end up having to fight users here because you want to make the Spanish Testers look bad. I will not be a happy camper.
Now stop your nonsense. @DaHillersen has personally observed many iterstions of the 8k & has posted some good simulated compare pics that other meetup attendees have agreed with.
If you canât be civil & wait til the 16th I will give you a suspension until that date.
The Spanish team will be receiving the m2 and that is all I am going to say. @deletedpimaxrep1 can maybe elaborate more on this.
