The Spanish, Sherlock, the professor and the three musketeers. Oh my, what a riot.
Thatās wildly inappropriate on a few levelsā¦
Avengers Infinity War 2
That is clear and simple defamation, allocen; @deletedpimaxrep1 I would like a public apology from this individual or to ban this guy, not without first asking for his data in case we decide to denounce him.
We are the only ones who donāt get absolutely anything out of getting data leaked, we donāt want publicity or control. Indirectly we could point out anything without breaking any NDA, nor is the security of the web inviolable.
And Iām clearly talking about the Spanish testers. They did test the unit extensively and did a lot of tests so I value their opinion a lot. On the Berlin meetup, testers who just had put on the HMD got a mic under their nose and had to form an opinion within a few seconds. And then thereās the social pressure I think a lot of these guys felt to confirm. Remember that 4k user who clearly wasnāt that impressed but said āthat it might have been the gameā ?
Fuckinā A, dude
I was crying on the inside watching people at the Berlin meetup with a Pimax, Elite Dangerous and a menu screen. Like having a ten course banquet with no plates or silverwareā¦
Nah, more like The Toxic Avenger 6
i wouldnāt say there is strong evidence leaning in that direction. im not even sure the spanish testers were par of the testing group when the original leak happened though i may be wrong. i thought they got organised after that.
As a group lets move the conversation back to the topic of the update, the impending lifting of the NDA for M2 and the quickly approaching release of the HMD?
Nah but one could wonder where you got all your info about the M1 from either you make stuff up or you get info about the M1 from one of the testers which would mean someone broke the NDA.
pimax definitely never claimed sharper than 4k. they did say around same ppi during kickstarter. but back then idp adjustment was purely in software too. if ipd is lenses moving but not screens then no single ipd setting can use all of the screen and you are losing at least the length of the range of ipd adjustment in usable screen space.
I think weāre all waiting for that price tag to drop, though
And not to hijack the thread, but I canāt help but scratch my head at the fact that StarVR has not caught a fraction of the shit Pimax has- and they have volunteered so much less as relevant specs and content go. I remember the first iterations of that project were a hot mess. Nobody seems to acknowledge that. Presumably because they are busy sharpening pitchforks for Pimaxā¦
Iām pretty sure that 5k plus is munch better device than 4k , and I can promise you it dosnt have mura , ghosting nor comfort issue like 4k have. Also SDE is not a problem at all, thanks to new panel and RGB spixel arrangement.
Hey you guys please keep it civil and stop the wild accusations. Pfft. Either way I would hope from the three reviews there will be some balance. MRTV and Voodoo have seen other displays. Whilst may b e not a direct comparison to the 4k at least different to gen 1 headsets. I assume Sweviver will also be at his most critical as well. Its very easy right now to suggest they are within the Pimax net so to remain credible they will need to choose words and their approach very carefully.
Well thatās easy, any device with Vive controllers and headtracking is better. But I was just talking about the SDE/clarity.
Well thereās where the spanish testers at least would disagree. But Pimax is not letting them talk.
seriously they cant disagree becouse they havent 5k plus and 8k m2 unit on test.
Changes between M1 and M2 are very minimal. They fixed the mic that didnāt work, supposedly itās less breakable, tracking was improved and there were 2 more small things Iāve even forgotten. Thatās all the difference. Lenses are 100% the same.
i mean, they tested the 8km1. and the 8km1 should have less sde than the 5k plus or otherwise.
I saw the āDoes it Blendā comment above and the image of a Pimax going into a blender is now sticking in my mind. Thanks for thatā¦
So in any event, as they have formally announced shipping end of the month, I assume the whole ātester green lightā thing is over no matter the reviews? Pimax never had to wait for their approval anyway, but looks like it is a moot point at this stage?
Not trying to be obtuse, but what is the point? The majority of 4k reviews I have seen were pretty negative. Same with OSVR- I was looking at both when they were coming out. The 4k reviews I saw mainly touched on lack of positional tracking and a dim display. Higher rez, but that couldnāt outweigh the other detractors. It seems to me that Pimax needed to distance itself from the 4k in order to legitimize the 8k as a proper gaming HMD.
