Yeah, Pimax should have put his order in the back of the line since I’m sure, many others would have loved to receive their 8KX by now. Instead it’s sitting in his home collecting dust.
Well if it’s not open, it’s not collecting anything, it’s keeping in that weird manufacturing smell of the face foam…that smell lingers for days…but I put a fan on to help air it out
Yeah - No. On the latest PiTool and want for the incorporation of the GPU slider control back as with Back Lighting for the 8KX.
Both Il2 and DCS suffer from stuttering with the current PiTool 1.0.1.263
I would prefer slightly less fps if that meant for smoother frame rate.
Also, with PiTool at 1 Render, I found my right eye had pixel shifting and it was hard to get a sweet spot with clear view of either text or objects. This seems not such a problem with PiTool at 1.25
SteamVR on auto settings and tested at 50% as well.
Loving the image clarity but with DCS, without base stations or zoom, the compass readout on the hud of the Mig 29 / Su27 is still hard to make out LOL.
So the 8k Vision + has been officially out since april right?
but since then he has done several through the lense reviews but not one comparing the 8kvision +
it would be nice to see the comparison vs the G2, but instead he has time to compare the OG rift and vive. What’s up with that?
And I have to say OG Rift looks decent since all those years passed. They did excellent work with this HMD back in 2016. I enjoyed the comparison, don’t blame people to do what they whant to do
I’m not blaming him, but based on the the topic I think that this just proves that Pimax needs better marketing. Most people don’t seem aware it exists
I wouldn’t say that, every VR channel has couple of Pimax videos & TW has lot of those. The HMD just is a bit complicated so last time it’s not mentioned often. Market isn’t pushing to buy it as there are variety of valid points although if you in VR & what to update your experience the in this context there are a lot of ads. I guess once X is available guys like Sweviver will do some videos, atm it I guess it’s a good thing that it’s not actively spamming without the product itself.
If you not looking for big FOV or high refresh rates I guess there is no significant reason to buy Pimax, just lot of risks, cons etc (pale screens, cracks, optic, comfort out of box, guarantee, software complexity & so on)
If a person looking for RR I would propose to buy Index
if for clarity - then g2 / Cosmos Elite
Most options are cheaper & better.
But if you need the big FOV - well Pimax is only your option.
Now also ET plays a role but it’s not ready for consumers yet.
Plus their hand tracking module supposes to be a good thing but no idea how long software develop will take to have a wide variety of experiences it may not happen at all, Oculus at this regard does really good job, but I don’t like FB politic though.
If cracks (assuming blue housing) & comfort might be fixed so it’s not a problem for experienced users, the pale screens & optics are a real big concern regarding Pimax, it’s subjective (pale colours & optics) but if Pimax would do a better work in this department they will be able to take much bigger % of VR market. Unfortunately they don’t move in this direction at all.
Just a positive note though recently they started to consider brightness adjustments + CEO asked about aspherical lenses with big PPD value. But they don’t look to OLED market & I think this is big big miss as ppl who previously enjoyed OLED HMD & nowadays started to upgrage to modern HMDs just hape LCD screens & there is big demand for better OLED VR headset but nobody cares or at least it’s so expensive atm that nobody can do it for less than 1500$.
