Deleting all content of AppData\LocalLow\Pimax\PVRHome now works well

I uninstalled I don’t know how many times the beta, rebooting my computer, trying your technique didn’t change anything I despair a bit to find a solution.

You are trying to load data from a www stream which has not completed the download yet.
You need to yield the download or wait until isDone returns true.

Seems like the problem is related to thumbnails that cannot get loaded.
Do you have custom non-Steam games added to Steam and VR library?

It didn’t work this time for me either, I don’t know what is the cause of this problem yet, maybe it has to do with thumbnails that cannot be loaded and the interface is blocked.

It also seems that there is some conflict with the settings between pitool and PE, sometimes the PP is randomly activated and the fov is minimized in PE, when I have not touched those options and also in Pitool they are without PP and with large or medium fov.

For now works thanks.

But now I have another problem, when I keep the automatic steamvr optimization box in the game activated, I start the game and it stays in the image of the circle spinning and the game does not start.

Uncheck this box launch the game well.

Is that a manually added non-steam game that has been imported from your SteamVR library?
These games are currently not launching. Im rewriting the script for the launcher and will make sure these starts as intended. Gimme a day or two :slight_smile:

The weird thing is that I cant see any error in your log anymore.

Could you please try to start PE directly with PVRHome.exe (first disable VHHome start in PiTool) and tell me if you still cant navigate the UI?

I just tried, a Unity window opens with the interface and closes directly, there is nothing in the helmet except the Pimax logo.

Restart PC and try again. This is normal when PiTool has already started the Unity player hidden, it many times doesnt want to start in fullscreen view again.

I guess that keeping the window allways open (so changing the startup settings in the registry) has a near-zero impact on performance (if the performance of an application that closes itself when the game is started matters)

Indeed after restarting Windows Unity remains open. Bad news, interactions still don’t work :/.

Could you remove all content from c:/users/user/AppData/localLow/Pimax/PVRHome/*

And try running PVRHome.exe again?

Also:

  • Are your VR controllers active in the scene and do you see them?
  • Is the laserpointer pointing at buttons/game thumbnails or just going past these?
  • do you have VivePort installed?
  • did you have this problem with previous versions ever since 0.18?
  • As you say you can scroll, can you check if any of the SteamVR games in the list shows without a thumbnail?

I can not activate any button or option with the pointer, only the scroll of the list of icons works, nothing else works.
It only works the first time, if steam vr this launches, if I launch a steam or oculus game and come back to PVE, the problems are back. Then I have to reboot the PC.

I gotta say this is super weird! It looks like some buttons react but doesnt click, while other buttons doesnt even respond to pointer-hover. Also the canvas doesnt collide with the pointer.

You said that “it works the first time”. So you are saying that all interaction works first time upon a fresh reboot of Windows right? And then upon one game launch, when you get back to PE, the interaction is dead. Am I correct?

What I suspect here, is that you perviously posted the log from a session where everything worked.
We are missing out something in the log…

Could you please send me the Player.log and Player-prev.log after you seen the problem (one of two times on same Windows session. Before you copy the log files, make sure PVRHome is not running.
Really appreciat your help. We gotta track this down, as it seems rare and odd, but must be solved indeed!

By the way , version 0.24 may be worth a try. I fixed (among other things) some occasional issue with illegal characters in game title names.
