VR BENCHMARKS

Wow, really? His system must be unoptimized. Yours seems clean. Is he CPU bound, or memory bound? He seems to have latency in his chain.

Edit: Referring to your second run now, in which you used 90Hz.

This guy seems to have no idea what he’s doing.

Ceteris paribus. Has he ever heard of it?

Yes sorry I posted the link before watching .
Looking forward to the big navi now , rumor is that it beats the 3080 , has 16gb ram and will be $500-550 , but will it do vr and will it be available ???

My 3090 FE finally arrives today after 3 rescheduled UPS deliveries :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:. Last night I ran OpenVR and the VRMark orange, cyan, and blue benchmarks with my 2080ti. Tonight I’ll run the benchmarks again with the 3090 and share the results.

Does current generation of AMD gpu support FFR or VRSS? Or do they have anything directed for VR?

Lucky you. In Germany, we didn’t even get stock :))

Current gen as in 5600/5700 do not have these features.

Next gen (big navi) will. I don’t know exactly how those features work with software, but my gut tells me that it won’t just work day 1 of the AMD release (maybe games need to be updated)

Hopefully Germany gets stock soon. I know this launch has been complete madness with the bots.

Hehe, have been using a bot. That’s why we know there was no 3090FE restock yet after the initial launch.

Yeah, these days you have to fight fire with fire. It’s a dog eat dog world now when it comes to product launches.

Exactly! I got an MSI RTX 3080 Trio X Gaming so I at least have anything. Great card, but even willing to trade it for a 3090 FE. If I get one, I’ll either give the 3080 back (if the two weeks since delivery haven’t passed yet) or sell it on without a Centino on top of its original price. Despise the scalpers.

Just curious, why do you want the FE over the Trio? I assume they’re close enough in performance to not make much of a difference.

~10%-15% more performance = to step up from normal FOV to large FOV. Or from small FOV/PP to normal FOV/PP.

I am still looking for Benchmarks on the 3090FE in comparison, in VR. If I have both, I can do these Benchmarks as well. If it’s just 5-10%, it’s probably not worth it though. The Trio is already 5% faster than the 3080 FE.

Makes sense, with the Pimax I can certainly understand that.

Received my Nvidia 3090 FE this evening. It is an absolute beast of a card. A little longer than the FTW3 2080ti Hybrid I have, but so much larger in width. It’s a hefty bastard, that’s for sure. I didn’t have a lot of time to do anything but run the 4 benchmarks I ran on my 2080ti recently as well. Tomorrow after work I’ll get into some actual gaming performance.

Interesting thing was the Orange room score wasn’t much better than the 2080ti for some reason, but the cyan room was a massive one, as well as the OpenVR score. For OpenVR my resolution was 4396x3948. I don’t know why it was 3948, when Sweviver ran the same benchmark his resolution was 4172x3160 on his 8KX. I ran it at 100% SteamVR settings. Strange.

I took a few pictures of the card. Please forgive the horrible 12pin adapter, I’m still waiting for a proper braided cable to arrive. I plan to take better pictures when that arrives.

PP on? If not, they might have tweaked settings between PiTool versions so HMD Quality at 1.0 is slightly higher than previously.

3090 really shines at high resolutions

Yes, I did have PP on. Good call. I’ll run it again when I get home to see if that makes a difference.
