edit: downgraded my monitor from a 4k to one with a few more frequensthingies, it’ll be interesting to see how the 3090 does with that. suposedly a 3000 series gpu is needed to get all of the bells and whistles out of it.
Just received my Asus TUF 3090 and man, what a difference this makes with my 2080TI. The 8k-X really NEEDS a 3090. Finally (most) games just run smooth at 100% resolution. Starting to like my 8k-X much more now (although I also modded it with a Vive DAS today and a DAC, which helps a lot too)
Are you overclocking it? and if so what is your Core clock and memory clock increased to?

I have a 8kX and received the eye tracking module. I’ve been waiting for the new release of Pi Tools before doing the install with a 2080ti.

Yeah, I’m really loving the combo. On most games I can run @ 125% to 150% supersampling on Large FOV.
I actually find the smooth 75hz better than 90hz on the 5k+. I think the blackframe insertion or panel latency is just better on these panels. I love black frame insertion on my monitor and it feels very similar. I’ve noticed that you do want to really hit the frame target though. Dropped frames seem more apparent.
Wasn’t there a rumour that 3080 with 20MB was cancelled by Nvidia?
Yes, but this is Ti. The cancelled one was just more vram, if I’m not mistaken…
This is supposedly a 3090 die with 20GB of VRAM instead of 24 on a 320 bit bus (like the 3080) instead of 384 lowering bandwidth from 19.5 Gbps too 19 Gbps.
We’ll see…

I accidently saw that a bunch of Trio X 3090’s were in stock and I just couldn’t help myself.
But that happened to be a good thing! It’s a beast!
I’m now on threeee Hall of Fame lists and that’s with an 8700k, Evga 500w bios, but only running 2x8 until I get a new psu (next week). Me happy.
I will do VR benching when receiving the 8KX.

lol, my 6700k will only let me compete against other 6700k’s, still better than 98 percent in firestrike… which is funny because that is really close to the same score i got with my pascal titans.
How much can you oc a 6700k?

Do you all think you can get 3080TI at a release day? People who bought 3080 need to wait until February in countries like Poland. When you think 3080TI will be available to buy for us - mortals?
i still can’t decide is it better to get 3090 now for 1600$ or wait until June/July to get 3080TI for cheaper…
btw I don’t think owners of 3090 have something to regret. They can use it for minimum half a year untill 3080TI will be available.
Guys if you need 3090 then go to newegg right now. They are dropping msi and evga every 25 minutes. You just need alert bot
