@pimaxusa Where's Monday's update?

“Today we are announcing that at some unknown point in the future we will release our controllers. Please be advised”

I paid $300 extra for two base stations and two controllers. I will happily take a refund (not a voucher) and put that towards the Steam base stations and controllers. I would be spending $130 more, but at least I will know exactly what I’m getting and I will get them next month!

Were you a preorder, or kickstarter?

Can we get a date when the backers will get their controllers, lighthouses, and head strap? We need to know before the preorders of the Valve Index go live, so we can make informed decisions. @pimaxusa

Does it matter? Legally, yes, but to avoid another PR nightmare that they can’t afford, it would be money well spent.

As a native Engish speaker I can say that the word sword is a clumbsy and ackward term to be associated with their controller, just plain odd man.

It’s pronounced ‘swurt’ as you can see in Sweviver’s video, so maybe they mean something else?

I agree, too agressive imo.

Not to mention, it doesn’t even look like a sword. Maybe they should call it the Pimax Hilt.

usually the “w” in sword is silent and pronouced as “sord”

hey Pimax, why don’t we take “Pimax knuckles” since valve has dropped it for “Index controller”.

Ha. That would work well, assuming it’s legal. It’s a more interesting name than Index anyway.

This would be my perfect pipe dream too, since we know Pimax would never agree to a refund.

I know what they mean

But I think it should be named based on what it does (eg “touch” controller, valve “index”) not what it looks like.

Nothing on RoadToVR, VRFocus, or UploadVR.

It’s a bit of mercy for Pimax that Rift S, Rift Quest & Valve Index are dominating the news cycle. This PR mess would not help their cause.

Yup, I hold no illusions. I keep hoping that Pimax will do the right thing, but it’s become apparent that our definitions don’t match…

Wow. Why release this non news so close to the Index reveal and Rift S and Quest preorder dates?

If they released it maybe a week earlier at least some more news outlets might report it as there wouldn’t have been much to report on. Or even a week later so some of the excitement has died down and people are more open to other options.

Now at best it is just an ‘afterthought’ news after the big exciting news from Valve.

I am no PR expert … but this is just sad.
You aren’t even impressing us Kickstarter backers who are (probably) your biggest fans.
What hope to pierce the mind of the general public???

not sure if this one was already posted.

Well, I guess I spoke to soon - there are news outlets are reporting on it. But from reading it it doesn’t seem exciting at all … I would guess most people are still excited about the Valve Index to care about this.

So the timing and the ‘non-news’ aspect is still disappointing.

This article is the first stating the 2H2019 is only for Sword. So the controllers we backed are further out than that??
