After the expectation created, did you plan to eclipse the F8 event with this news?
Be realistic, it’s more likely Backers will need to fill out a SurveyMonkey indicating whether they’d like Sword or Sword Sense, as well as if they’d like the thumbstick or trackpad for both left and right hands.
I cant see any new information from what we have already known for a long time apart from a cheaper downgrade version added.

Weve seen the pictures shown before, Seen the spec, valves knuckles were demoed with capsense working to show how pimaxs work?
A date which is open for 6 months & i didnt see a functioning example.
Its all well & good saying “were going to do this” but ill save my hype for when its a bit more real.
How disappointing
I’m hoping there’s something still to be released, since I don’t see anything in @SweViver’s video that would count as “data points”.
Real o Virtual (RoV) comments that the release date of Sword Sense is still unknown, so it is possible that the basic Sword is sent before.
Just another PR fiasco that landed with a loud Thud.
And yes! Excellent job on those much needed/anticipated ‘data points’.

It always leaves us with the feeling of writing (in this case neither that) we find out through external media as great news and finally it’s like not saying or teaching anything we haven’t already seen.

How much you want to bet the ‘Basic’ controllers are somebody’s brainchild to stiff the backers who paid real money for a decent controller.
Hyperbole? Maybe, but until Pimax tells us wtf is actually going on, we’re left to our own imaginations.
They’ve at least given an update on controllers and basestations even if the info is a bit vague at this point.
Now will this mean that shipping to backers and pre orders will start in Q3?
I hope not. I ordered thumbstick from the start so i wont be going back to trackpad. Ill be picking up the valve knuckles anyway.
Im not going to wait on a pimax promise.

No way does this count as an “update”, the shipping info is as vague as it was before, and the design doesn’t appear to have changed since the last time we saw it. All that’s “new” is that there is a budget model, unless I’m massively missing something.

It’s inexplicable to me that these guys are incapable of learning from their mistakes.
They need to take their Marketing/Communications teams and fire every one of them. Just rip the bandaid off and start over.
The only lesson they have seemed to take from these mistakes is “talk less”. Which has the opposite effect of making us latch on to every drip of messaging from their employees, and leads to even more hype than if they had been talking to us the whole time.
I’ve got an idea. Pimax should leak on the forum that something HUGE is coming up, send out mails for people to get ready for something BIG, make a website with counter ticking down and when it reaches 0, show a youtube video of pimaxusa releasing a HUGE fart. Now that should will actually be funny!

The name “Sword” was chosen precisely because the form reminded them of a sword. Sword includes trackpad, and Sword Sense stick next to the side trackpad, as well as sensors that detect the five fingers and their movements. Both types of controllers include a grip button, a menu button (“A” in Sense), a system button (“B” in Sense) and a trigger, and are compatible with SteamVR Tracking 1.0 and 2.0.
Henderson also comments that Pimax base stations could come along with the launch of the controllers, or at least that seems to suggest his words:
"Our goal is to offer the best VR experiences available and, as we launch these new controllers along with the latest Lighthouse technology, this will allow us to offer complete VR systems that are more expandable and versatile than any other VR offering.
I think the sponsors deserve to receive the Sword Sense model!
@PimaxUSA I was sincerely hoping you would bring some maturity/professionalism to their on-going communications train wreck.
