Excellent! I love what I’m seeing so far. The only thing I can think of asking for so far is a “Pimax boundary” that can be used for Oculus games! Even if it simply copies the SteamVR one (if that’s even possible) that would be excellent. It looks to me like everything that is configurable in PiTool is working perfectly. I think I pushed just about every button :smiley:

I got 8KX two days ago and was not satisfied - the image is not sharp as I expected. On this forum I read everything about steamvr.vrsettings. I very carefully updated the config file but image is still blurry. In Potato FOV the sharpness is amazing. I am looking forward to see how your app will handle it.

Unfortunately, getting it right is tricky. It sounds like your config file fix isn’t quite right (which is not your fault). The fault lies with Valve, who have a complicated SteamVR setup which doesn’t handle high res headsets very well.

I too hope that the Pimax Experience will solve this issue for Pimax users, once and for all.

@SweViver I have a question, for profiles, does PE will adapt profil to every pc configuration automatically ? or it will be a default profil for all ? Because i cannot have the same profil with; exemple; i9 9900k with 3080 and i5 4600 with 1080. Profil don’t be the same. will PE take care of configuration to load the good profil type ? sorry for my bad english to explain this.

No, we will open the private VR Exp Beta Category for public tonight, so we can all continue discussing and reporting issues in there. Im just waiting for @Heliosurge to fix that.

@SweViver I plan on only using VR for Racing and Flight sims. The dashboard is great for all other games it seems.

From the few minutes I played in the menus, it seems like it’s just a dashboard where you can launch titles, and make your PiTool changes in, etc… Stuff that Simulation fans won’t really need anyway since we don’t use controllers much.

I do have a few suggestions that can help us Simulation gamers though:

It would be great if it had the steamVR Settings file automatically update on launch as was promised a while back. We already have an app in the forum that can do this if you haven’t seen - maybe you can incorporate it into PE?

And also for the Desktop mode, i thought it would be a flat window with the app’s settings on it, allowing us to use a mouse which doesn’t seem to be the case. It’s a mirrored window that you can use your mouse on.
Can you also make an option to allow desktop NON-VR mirrored usage of PE? And if possible, please change it from locking the mouse cursor in the window? I just alt-tab out of it, but being able to move the customer off the window without alt-tabbing off it would be a great quality-of-life improvement as well (as if it’s just a regular app window)

i have to agree that actually using the desktop view is a bit annoying because it captures the mouse and you have to place the headset to show it. I don’t see me using it at all as it is.

I asked about the input field to be able execute custom script on every launch, this way we can use @BNP’s exe if it supports -y flag or similar approach.

Btw I didn’t try PE Exp as had no much time recently for VR, but even if it’s no changing the file (which I believe can be a ok case) doesn’t it change runtime steamvr settings which was the main goal of PE to avoid changing configs & games launched through PE will be sharp & clear coz steamvr runtime settings already were adjusted before app launch if not in config then in runtime which is safer coz config values often get ignored.

The one of the solutions atm, make a bat & do script run to adjust config automatically & then launch a steam, so every steam launch config will be updated.

@SweViver do we have a github open repo for this project? It might be much better approach to get devs and & use merge requests & forks to support such a thing, it’s way more organised & handy for progressing & onboarding new people if it’s not the case yet.

PE is supposed to implement pretty much the same functionality as my program does so if you’re using PE then you probably wont need to use my program. @SweViver can you confirm this?
