When starting PC3 from PE it dont start steam vr now with latest update. Have not tested if I get the same problem with other games.

This is a SteamVR bug, switching to SteamVR beta solves it.

Launching a SteamVR based game vie PiTool or PE will always first load SteamVR, if it isn’t loaded yet, and then the title.

FPSVR can be set to automatically launch with SteamVR, just like all the other overlays.

Hello,

That makes sense for the SteamVR environment issue and I will try it tonight. My questions are:

  • Did this bug in SteamVR just come about as it did not happen in PE .70 and I was not using the SteamVR Beta
  • If this is a SteamVR bug as you stated, why would it still be happening in PE when SteamVR is not running?

Problem solved :smiley: but I don’t know exactly how…
I’ve just manualy erased my AppData\LocalLow\Pimax\Pimax VR Experience and then re installed PE VR 0.74 on itself and all is ok now.

I have had some Steamvr Titles launched by Pitool not launch fpsvr so likely a bug in steam maybe or FpsVR.

To everyone here who has trouble launching games in VR mode via PE:

Please provide us your log files. They are located under:

C:\Users\<YourUserHere>\AppData\LocalLow\Pimax\Pimax VR Experience

They are named :

  • Player.log
  • Player-prev.log

Make sure you have launched PE and already tried to start a game that fails to load in VR. This way the information in the log files can be limited yet helpful.

I only Fly DCS and Elite Dangerous (8KX) and once in awhile, IL2 seated in my simpit. Question is I have not tried the PE and am tired of updating the steam config file. Does PE stop running once you launch a game? I am concerned about any type of FPS hit. The other is if I don’t want to run it I would just uncheck the run VR Home box?
Lastly, I do not have hand controllers but I have a trackball, the mouse works well in PE?

I believe PE is exited and reloads after game/steamvr exit. @arminelec

PE does support Mouse.
