Recently we have read various comments related to Pre-Order customers receiving their devices before backers and would like to clarify some of the information on the subject.
First thing is we want backers to know we are certainly sorry some pre-orders arrived before you received your own device. You have waited a long time to receive this product and clearly you deserve the first deliveries.
You should know it is our intention to deliver to backers first and we are working with our logistics partners to accelerate deliveries at every opportunity.
Here are some additional details on the delivery status:
Kickstarter backers are indeed our top priority.
We have shipped all confirmed 5K+ Kickstarter orders before CNY. We included some additional 5K+ units in these shipments for Pre-Orders.
Unfortunately our freight forwarding partners developed their own plans (and order the devices are processed) for delivery once they received the landed devices. This was the primary cause for some Pre-Orders landing before backer devices and for that we certainly apologize.
We have done some research and found there are only 79 5K+ backers who confirmed before the CNY break that were not properly synchronized with our shipping partners.
The most important piece of information is the total quantity of 5K+ devices we shipped before CNY is well in excess of the number required to provide for all confirmed 5K+ backers. We believe all remaining confirmed 5K Plus backers will receive their tracking number before Thurday, February 28th.
Can I still switch from 8K to 5K+?
My first request was denied despite posts on the forum saying we can - second request was simply ignored. Perhaps post a realistic timeframe of how much more I have to wait for 8K deliveries.
It’s all very vague - “New delivery of parts after CNY” - the usual shipping half-truths - more than 700 before me on the 'building ten of the spreadsheet.
I’m totally sick of waiting now - especially in light of pre orders being delivered - and I’m very annoyed that we weren’t given the truth about 8K delays at the time of the 5K+ vs 8K survey. Don’t care which HMD I get anymore.
Just to add before I head out. Most of this info has been reiterated already and I assume a majority of 5K+ backers are well aware of the situation. However, you are completely disregarding the many numbers of 8K backers who are looking for an update. Not even a single reference to the 8K in this official post. Come on Pimax team we are already being patient, but this post kind of rubs our noses in it a little.

Mate, be reasonable. It’s out of PImax’s hands at this point. They’ve shipped them. I’s being handled by the transport companies and couriers now. Depending on where you live, it will take longer to get to you… Surely this isn’t so hard to understand?
