This would have been released as an open source project if I hadn’t been threatened with legal action which cut off a pre-production funding deal that was in the pipeline

That was an absolute shame as @SmallBaguette said. Your project is really needed to help advance the idea of controller design.
I recall when knuckles was first revealed it was thought it was going to be reference model for OEMs to base off of.

It was a large corporation which owns multiple consumer facing companies and has a very large patent portfolio. It’s all too easy to unknowingly infringe a patent, especially when you don’t have resources to chase down every piece of prior art.
Unfortunately I attracted their attention after “Project Caliper” blew up on social media, and received a polite but firm offer to stop, or face ruinous consequences
