Pimax day backlash!

The logistics of having so many different options for coupons and different HMD and parts discount for backer is going to be a real problem for them to sort out soon to.

Agreed stretch goals were set in the same as businesses put a sale on. Selling a product at a loss (below cost) called a Marketable loss. To encourage sales of other items. In the KS this was more pledges. If this was a store or site it would be other products/merchandise.

Not only for backers. I pre-ordered the handtracking module when I bought the 5K+ (because they made it sound like it would not be offered as an accessory later on), and I’m almost certain that I won’t receive it unless I remind them about it…

True your internet & telecommunications are already providing enough data on your activities. Lol

Thats what i stated in the opening of this, they are making everything more complicated all the time. They should have never made stretch goals or gave us the option to switch (I’m glad they did) but they are complicating things.:tornado::tornado::tornado:

It would be interesting to have peaked into Fove’s KS to see how backers were with waiting from investment to delivery of combined 3 years for just the headset.

Compared to pimax who is a year late on headset & if timeline works 2 years on Controllers. Equalling a total of 3 years like Fove.

This ^ might actually be the biggest issue Pimax has…

Focus on fewer areas and get those right before moving on to the next ones…

KS Companies tend to suck more than Pimax. Pimax isn’t perfect by any means and they need to get their stuff sorted but I think they actually care about making the damn thing.

Indeed I foresee a mess like sorting KS surveys.

Lets just hope they make some adjustments in our favor. That is why the backer discount has not been revealed. They wanted to see community response and still leave room for adjustment.

And the more complicated = waste in costs to process

Okay, as one example, when asked repeatedly what panels were in the 8K, were they pentile or full RGB, various members of Pimax staff both during the kickstarter as well as during testing of the prototypes stated as fact that they were not pentile, they were full RGB… people backed based on that statement… once the prototypes got in to the hands of a 3rd party it became patently clear that they are not full RGB.

If that isn’t a lie then I don’t know what else to call it.

Yes but if you remember they had a shortage of panels and had to do some thing.

The shortage of panels just meant you could get a 5k+ quicker, the 8k NEVER was going to have RGB panels and Pimax knew that from day one.

But we know from first tested review they were ā€œpentileā€ like.

But yes they had too many answering questions whom did not understand the question. RGB was said but nowhere that I recall save Engadget said Full RGB.

But was answered RGB enough to create confusion; much like their XR advert on their site could make folks think their Oled version is RGB. ā€œSee the RGB!ā€

Indeed but nowhere did that say what kind of rgb.

And we know even pentile is rgb. Just not full.

I think LG was criticized for their RGB-W panels.

Pentile if not mistaken is a brand. So wouldn’t that make other panels pentile like?

Ie Skilsaw any other brand is Circular saw
Dremel tool vs Rotary tool.

Etc…

You are correct however the direct question was:

Yes they were ahead of their time so gone after 2 years of release. Maybe pimax should have tried to buy them out.

Can you supply a link as their site is still operating & contact works. So not as gone as you suggest.

And was there an answer to this inquiry?

Because both are RGB. One just has the title full or striped.

Because ā€œNo RGB not pentileā€ wouldn’t have been a clear answer.
