Thanks for the reply Dallas.Hao, but my problem has been resolved.
It was a usb issue, and a simple fix, which is what I was hoping would be the case.
Now I can get on with actually using my 8K.
Merry Christmas to all.

Anyone tried a third party 6dof with its Pimax 5k/8k?
in Vr Maniac youtube channel, he shows using the 8K with the NOLO controllers.
With the p4k a few have tried kinect/psmove
I am looking for head tracking only for now, their controllers donāt look very good.
Yes I looked at driver4vr, but it seems like there are settings for each HMD and right now, I donāt think the 5k/8k are supported.
I donāt know if it would work with the P4K settings, or if the camera of the Kinect 360 looks for the shape of the HMD to do the positional tracking.
The NOLO system includes head tracking along with controllers⦠NOLO has a module you attach to the top of your HMD. But you are correct⦠theyāre controllers arenāt that great.
You might be able to use Nolovr without motion controllers for just head tracking.
As for driver4vr if i get inet setup & find my 360 kinect might be able to test. Though Greg might have info on un identified headsets.
Update - I changed my mind. I just bought a lighthouse, so strike my original postā¦
Once my headset arrives, Iām going to investigate to see if I can use OpenTrack to provide the missing (positional) 3DOF.
Iām already using OpenTrack to provide z-axis roll for my EDTracker. I think if I connect a webcam, I might be able to add positional data, until I get my lighthouse (which should have significantly better positional accuracy).
Can someone confirm that we can setup the Pimax with just one base station ?
Or its 2 needed for initial setup ?
I think @SweViver has tested using 1 base station initial setup.
Iāve seen at least two successful reports in this forum, but I only found one post. IIRC, there was a minor problem getting the configuration setup, which was mentioned in the other post. (Had to close PiTool and restart Steam VR, or something similar???)

Yep, I did setup my 8k and one lighthouse cube as mentioned above without a problem.
I am about to buy a Vive bundle for around $350, I ll sell the headset and one base station, so I expect to end up with 2 controllers and one base station for free or close to.
2 LH are much better than 1.
i would sell none.
u never know if your pimax becomes faulty and then u gotta wait a looooooooong time,
while watching the others enjoy VR and the upcoming games. just dont.
be happy u can get a vive THAT CHEAP. In germany they cost ~600$
Keep both base stations. Two are always better than one, and they can fail. I had one replaced more than a year ago because of one suddenly doing very loud motor sound.
Great test ! This is exactly my case.
Sold my Vive/Odyssey and now i will have to use 3DoF till the single Lighthouse i bought arrives.
HOPEFULLY my Pimax will arrive FIRST than the Lighthouse
I will do more tests tonight here at work without any base stations. Will report if i find any issues.
If possible, please, test Elite Dangerous.
There are many CMDR jumping in after hearing that the SDE/Clarity/FOV were very enhanced and like myself, don“t have a Lighthouse pair laying around.
Thanks.
