Neelrocker,

I enjoyed and agree with your comments!

As a past Oculus DK1, WMR, and Disappointed Pimax 4K user, I understand your 3 vs 6 DOF comparison. Perhaps others may not …for y’all here is a good explanation. 3DOF, 6DOF, RoomScale VR, 360 Video and Everything In Between | Packet39

I Use a 6 DOF head tracker called TrackIR for my flight simming (X-Plane), and I am thoroughly immersed with it. Hmmmm I wonder if it could be coupled with my Pimax 5K Plus…to give us a “Lighthouse free”, 6DOF!?..I’ll keep y’all posted. WRM was too problematic for me but I used it semi-happily with X-Plane for ten months before selling it to buy a Pimax 5k Plus.

6 DOF for flight simming and possibly driving/racing…and for sure First person shooter…looking around the corner of a building…is an absolute must for total immersion! Anything short of 6 DOF and you are cheating yourself… see my Dev work for Lilbluedonuts and latest vids training on my new TBM 900 using TrackIR on Xplane 11.32r1 TrackIR5 TrueEarth England N. Keep up the good work!

A basic way to put it is that in 6DOF you can actually move your head/body (ie strafing left/right, jumping up/down) whille with 3DOF you can only change which way you are facing (ie looking left/right or up/down, nodding/shaking your head).
