Traffic and expensive hotels are prevalent in NYC and LA. Bummer they didn’t pick more accessible places where the hassle factor is low.

I know they’ve got the Pimax in the image, but they’re not on the list of participants… and Pimax’s provided NY dates are two days… and the expo is three days. Maybe they just have a small (and probably cheaper) space just for backers, not for everyone else… Because if they are at the expo with demos for the public, backers wouldn’t really get any sort of priority or extra time.

That was certainly what it looked like, London had a lot of votes but Pimax seems to just do what Pimax wants to do regardless of advice or public opinion, at one point it was looking good that a lot of UK backers would get a chance to compare the two headsets but obviously Pimax thinks the bigger market is in the U.S.

Are non-backers able to try the headset on by chance?
I would not think so, they are “backer meetups” and I am guessing that is a way to limit the number of people and help avoid massive lines. Until they can meet their backer requirements no point in worrying about marketing. Better marketing from word of mouth if it is as good as the first reports are saying.
Shame they cant just bring the headsets to the meetups and avoid a bunch of shipping.

Find a backer to hook up with to sign you in. Hell the Berlin meetup they let girlfriends and other friends attend and try and they weren’t backers. They were just with backers.

Of course, London is the top city in terms of backer number.
