I am currently most interested in the drift that is present at 99% when using psmove.
When will this drift be cured?
For all the time of use, there has been no drift just a couple of times that is very distressing.
Just wondering whether in the near future there will be normal changes to drift and ghosting?

Hi, which Piplay version you use? Is the drift phenomenon still exist without using PSmove?

At the moment I use the latest version. The
drift is present on all versions without exception, but there were a
few moments when it was not after the appearance of the drift correction
function (on different piplay).
Without the
use of PSmove is shown much less often, as when watching a movie through
a virtual desktop it was weak (insignificant)
Also, many nolo users also complain about the drift.
@Pimax-Support

Hi, thanks. As per users’ feedback recently, the drift phenomenon have been improved much in recent Piplays. Have you calibrated magnetism before you used the headset? Or refer to @Enopho’s solution, i.e.

The fact is that the calibration in recent versions simply does not work.
Yesterday
evening I tested the version 1.2.93 and after calibration it did not
drift, but in versions 2+ there is drift in all, but I do not know this
from the others (but judging by the reviews far not only do I have a
drift).
@Pimax-Support
I also want to add to the
drift creeps away to the side and the controllers remain at their
original place, which makes us constantly press the centering button in
the piplay.
If you do this procedure through the mirror, steamvr centering does not help.
If
beforehand steamvr is done manually calibrating the drift in piplay
(1.2.93) everything works as it should without removing the controllers
(which makes versions 2+ piplay not suitable for playing with
controllers, but at the same time they obviously benefit from versions
of 1+ versions).

It would be nice if there was an “auto calibration switch” for those of us who use tracking other than nolo. It would also be nice if there was less ghosting :joy: Oh a man can dream though.

Using SteamVRs inbuilt centering isn’t a solution for a problem of the 4K. Really should have been entirely fixed by now.

Something is of with my pimax.

First steamvr would not stay shut down, so after a while I resorted to pull the hdmi plug out to see if it would work.

But now piplay or steamvr would not play nice no matter what I did.

So I tried the latest piplay (I was still on 1,1,92 FW 236) and I pushed the update firmware to 265…

did not work good.

Went back to 1,1,92, had some bugs, fixed some but is not like before, I now get sick very quickly, never did before !

I want to get back to FW236 but I tried and it still shows FW265.

I tried manuel and with the tool.
The tool work bad because you can’t kill the piplay service !

We keep testing new piplays, how do we know the firwares are not problematic ?

How do I know I did not screw up calibration ?

How do I know a steamvr update would be the culprit ?

@Pimax-Support @Doman.Chen @bacon

What is steam vr headset window ?
Makes 2/3 of my monitor go black and that’s it… stuck…

Again it’s either the FW265 or a steamvr update that’s the problem.

Any of us using the latest piplay are on firmware 265.

I would recommend reinstalling steamvr & see if that works.

But if you can post your system specs
Windows ver
Cpu/ram
Gpu/driver ver

What happened to Nolo ceiling mounted 360 support? I copy the DLL to the directory and then the headset will no longer connect to Piplay?

I’ve gone back to a previous version, BTW where can i download: [quote=“CReDo, post:195, topic:2900”]
1.2.93

Sounds like it may be a better version for Nolo?

Hi, you may right-click “PiServiceLauncher” in “Service” on “Task Manager” and then “Stop” it before you flashed the firmware into the headset.

Could you describe this issue in detail? or any error popup?

It keeps poping back , It wont die !

I am back on 1,1,92 but FW265 and when I get trough all the problems to get Simple VR video player to finally work…
The images on all VR videos is now distorted (fisheye) !!!
No wonder I get motion sickness !!!

The only difference from before is the firmware !
If I can get back to 236 I will know if the problem is somewhere else …like steamvr.

I remember people talking about a bad aspect ratio change and other negative changes to the render, zoom, fisheye, or whatnot, Now the way my videos are now I hope that you guys did not let this slide and think it’s all good cause I would be pissed !

Now help me get back on FW 236 please.

I reinstalled SteamVR… same problem remains !

I tried again to go back to 236, no can do, manual or with tool.

Maybe a better explanation of what to do in duf mode (manual) like what do you do ? copie and paste in the file ?
I did it a long time ago, did not make sence then but it worked, well not anymore !

My pimax is useless now.

Need help FW 236.

And if a cleaner install of 1,1,92 (getting rid of artifacts) a how to would help.

So if these tests mean anything and are consistent then it's less resolution and a different format so not 16:9 which would explain the performance increase and the zoomed in view ?

Yep if the aspect ratio is different it will distort the image. Just think of VLC player; if you take an old tv show 4:3 & stretch it to 16:9. The picture is wider

Have ypu tried latest piplay?

@Sjef might have some incites

That’s when my problems started ! I’m trying to get back !

Here’s how to roll back: http://community.openmr.ai/t/roll-back-to-piplay-1-1-92/2674/6?u=sjefdeklerk

I’m on v1.1.92 myself and I don’t think I will ever switch again. The only thing that is that Nolo doesnt work with this version but that thing is rotting away in my basement anyway since it’s such a horrible piece of hardware  I like it that this thing is using the SteamVR renderer and that you can shoot screenshots from within SteamVR. Apart from that it just works.

Sounds like my NOLO should stay right where it’s been.

What were your woes and did you try the ceiling mount?
