Shot through the lens with some video footage.
Thanks for the videos. Would it be possible to use a better camera to help get rid of the flickering
SDE looks good but I don’t understand why they cant shoot these in 4K??? It seems pointless show it in 1080
I assume the camera is zoomed on only one part of the screen/lens, so it is not as bad as you might think.
Someone needs to come up with a standard through the lens format. There must be a better way to do it
What is the idea behind showing these vids? I cant see how it demonstrates much as they seem low quality and lack detail? Am I missing the point some how?
Would be better if they showed Vive/Oculus as well for comparison
you honestly think they gonna buy a 2000$ or more camera 4k just to shot 50sec footage so you can see it without flickering? Their job isnt to shoot footage for you, their hjob is to make that HMD.
Technical aspect already shows it have better quality then your overall HMD
People can really be obnoxious these days , demanding things that are not even logic.
It is as pointless to shoot something in 4k to show it on a 1080p monitor friend…Lots of detail get lost too in that way
1080p video of a 4k screen… literally says nothing about sde.
I don’t see the point in micro-analyzing this…
You can say this is not an SDE, but a pixel grid drawing.
Just saying, since it was shot with a 1080p camera it doesn’t show much.
Well, what is it then in your opinion?
this looks fine to me, we are talking about an absurd level of zoom to resolve the pixels like this.
My opinion is that you can sit here and compare SDE pictures all you want but in the end it’s going to be higher resolution than any current headset, and there is no point in sitting here micro-analyzing the exact difference. When it comes down to it, every screen is going to have the SDE to some degree until we can provide enough GPU power to handle like 16k per eye (that’s gonna be a while).
And I do not compare SDE. This is a pixel drawing, the structure or arrangement of pixels is obvious.
Are not you interested in the structure of the screen of your future 8K?
In my opinion, any information about this deserves attention.
Yes it looks great. But in reality it will be much better than shooting through a 1080p lens, undoubtedly. Such video shooting is not able to convey the real quality of 8K. It’s clear.
