I have no problems of speaking ill about products even when the CEO is around. You should know that by now.

This is my first impression. I can give you the full account after i have it at home. But at this moment in time I am impressed and is the best Pimax I have tried so far.

You need to test it in a non dark game. When I tried it at the nyc backer meetup (Skyrim loaded) there was oled smearing when moving my head fast. Also look at text. Didnât seem much better than the OG vive.

Did you notice any world moving wobble like the 8k? Do you know when youâre getting a 5kBE to test?
space pirate trainer looks good with oled screen as itâs very dark , could you maybe try it with a bright game , nature treks etc

Did you hear or do you know of how close the 8k BE is to being shown? If you are this impressed now with the 5k BE curious if the 8k BE will raise the bar even more.
Any chance you can try the 5k BE with a different game than Beat Sabre? I assume you will be back tomorrow.

This is not true at all.
I had the âopportunityâ to see balcksmear on my gearVR with s6.
It was by far the most noticeable in dark games.
Because the black is everywhere that means that all the non black parts (which is usually what you are looking at) get smeared every time you move.
Something like a night sky would have all the stars smeared with black with every head turn, for example.
Yeah. I still have to decide, so Iâm kinda in a rush to know if this version is good or not to discard it.

Pimax do not allow the switchting to a different HMD anymore from this point going forward.
Man, this is outrageous. I cannot understand how they can do it more badly. I was travelling when I got the surveys, I got by home by Christmas and got the new surveys⌠I was waiting for a compelling review of the 5KBE to make my mind, and now that the first impressions from CES are coming, they close the chance to switch⌠MAN, this is too much.

While I understand that this communication is somewhat sudden, donât forget that Pimax were extremely considerate in even offering a switch between 5K+ and 8K in the first place.
From what I understand, it is excatly this consideration that is starting to bite them in the ass now that they can ship the HMDs quicker, and I understand they had to pull the rope at some point.
Just get in touch with support and let them know about your situation. Please do keep in mind that I think at no point Pimax offered a switch to the 5K BE version, at least from what I recall.
