Yes, they argue that red cars are more likely to be stolen. They have a complete scale
I know many studios who literally ban 3rd party programs based that doesn’t use copyrighted code to modify the game, and it’s TOTALLY LEGAL. I don’t know why Rockstar would be an exception, liking Luke Ross job is NOT a legal reason.
Yes, you can drive a car without a plate here too but not on public roads, but that’s not the point. We were talking about common use. The point is you can’t do anything you want even if you own it : there are rules.
Glad that idiocy was abandoned here. Though I believe they still discriminate based on sex.
Yes Ban being clear word not illegal; typically games with Online play as s mod may make it easier to cheat. So yes in that it is legal; much like rooting a playstation or xbox is legal as they simply release s new firmware that breaks the jailbreak.
Luke Ross’ job is legal as like WINE he is using his own code. Either way like Rockstar’s past issues have hurt there image and lost them sales this will be no different.
They have already lost a ton of new sales the mod brought to there otherwise mostly dead titles. Even a friend whom works for Rockstar just shakes his head at this stupidity. But like most companies needs to keep his views unofficial as stating things openly could cost him his career.
And you have my vote for the MOST ANALPHABETIC in this discussion.
I didn’t put cars in this topic, read better. An btw we talked about MODIFICATIONS USERS MAKE, not about automakers.
You should try this : https://learnenglish.britishcouncil.org/
Honestly it’s all so arbitrary, at the end of the day the only reason I am a PC gamer VS a Console gamer is for the freedom to play games they way I want to, which pretty much is usually not the way the dev or company intended.
I mean sometimes mods are literally fixing things that the company refuses to fix, like I can’t believe that to this day Ace Combat 7 still doesn’t support any aspect ratio above 16x9. I have to install a mod to get the game to have the game run at the resolution of my monitor. And it’s not like people haven’t been asking for this, and it’s not like the game doesn’t come out with patches every month. They just choose to ignore this one really annoying thing.
Then there are other mods which quite frankly I love but I realize that we are lucky these things are allowed at all . (I let you google “Final Fantasy 7 Tifa mods” yourself.)
It’s actually shocking that there are creators out there charging wholesale for outfit mods for street fighter (way more $$ than what Luke Ross is charging that’s for sure)
Capcom literally sells costumes themsleves and could easily go after these guys but don’t out of good faith.
So at the end of the day , Let’s just count our blessings that CDPR and Capcom don’t decide to be like 2K and drop the ban hammer on modding.
Because the day mods stop is the day I quit gaming on PC . It’s too expensive anyway.
I think Korden missed the point again. It doesn’t matter if painting your OWN car is illegal in your country or it requires some sort of special registration or higher price insurance or whatever.
What MATTERS is I can sell you the paint or the brush and what you do with it is not my problem. There is no telling what you might paint with it, even a chair in your home so there is nothing at all preventing that. Your examples once again do not apply to this situation.
You keep bringing up derogatory terms to describe people who pay for some of these things and call them “pigeons”. This is rather offensive - this just shows you don’t want people charging for their work. It is our freedom to choose if we buy someone’s work or not. He could sell the mods for $1 or $1000 it doesn’t matter as he has every right to charge for his labor if he chooses to do so. Your freedom is to chose not to buy and go to another person who might even give it away for free.
I’m not a LR patreon subscriber (used to be) but i agree it is his decision to charge for his mods or not and it’s our decision if we pay for them or not. No-one should be telling someone what to do in these situations or slagging them off because of it, i’ll pay for something if i choose and LR can charge if he wants. Entirely free will decisions.
yeah, this is the real bottom line. I have subscribed to LR off and on over the past year because I find value in what he is doing. The real shame is that Take2 was too short sighted to realize that what he does was actually making them additional money also. I recently bought Ghostwire Tokyo just because of the LR mod. I had never even heard of the game before.
Maybe only on part shocking. Games like Rocket League also do things like this. Even steam opened this up to allow ppl yo charge for Steamwork shop. I do agree that charging high prices is crazy.
Then of course Mortal Kombat instant fatalities that used to be the fun of debugging codes.
Again you distort words and facts to prove yourself right, it’s a habit with you.
It doesn’t matter if selling paint is legal or not, this example was mentionned to point this : you can’t do anything with your car/software.
Your opinion Kevin doesn’t count to me, it’s been a while since you lost all credibility to me.
he has every right to charge for his labor if he chooses to do so
According to what ? to you words, to your fantasies ?
I first said I’m disengaging. Then I said I’m sorry I made you mad. I meant it both times. I’m flagging the above as I can see your edit, which is threatening/Not OK. I also deleted my post that was clearly angering you as well. Once again I apologize, as my post, while not threatening was a dick-ish thing to say, and in fairness, we sort of ganged up on you, yeah? So, cooler heads prevail? VR is fun. Life is good. Luke wouldn’t like any of this
