Hehe funny review indeed but also pretty good. It’s just frikking way beyond understandable how they could put such mic in an $800 headset (just as mind boggling as pimax putting that speaker in their 8kx by the way). I also really wanted to love the VP2, the panels are just awesome, but they just messed up on too many fronts. And especially when trying the VP2 again after having used the VR3 those godrays are just really really bad… If I had to go back to another headset from my VR3 I’d go back to the 8kX. In fact, I did A/B and having the 8kX FoV is really really nice after the much smaller VR3 FoV. Yet the VR3 resolution is just too good to switch back, but when comparing headsets, it’s obvious now that there’s no place for the VP2 in my collection, while the 8kX still has a function because of the wider FoV. In fact, some games I like better on the 8kX because of the FoV.
The only reason i keep the vive pro 2 besides the pimax 8kx is the wireless option on the vive pro 2.
The wireless is better then on the quest 2…But offcourse expensive
Or before he sends it on the the next one in line…
Or, if you ever have a problem keeping your door open, you can put the VP2 to use!
I tried it with the pimax, but it immediately cracked
My Honest review ! of the Vive Pro 2 ( Its awful ) and HP Reverb G2 ( Its ok - if it had FOV of Pimax it would be really good )
I owned the Vive Pro 2 for 1 day… Did everything I could to like it… The only new thing was the lenses and small sweet spot ( constantly adjusting ) - I swear they used all old hardware ( including the controllers ) The god rays were horrible. Way more than any of my other headsets. This picture was good once you got in a game. My Pimax 5K+ spoiled me for FOV. So what did I do next . Reverb G2 - Again still spoiled by FOV even modded it to gain some FOV. The Clarity is great… But lots of crashes in games though and tracking is not great stuttering on head movements not to mention having to change battery’s every other day on the controllers. My 5K was way more stable especially in DCS… Last chance in the sub $1000 market… I already have lighthouses and Valve Index controllers so guess what I got? Pimax Vision 8K Plus with modular audio on sale on Amazon and had some credits so got a good deal. Gonna strip my comfort mods off my 5K+ I designed and now I guess I am officially a Pimax fan !
Headsets I owned
Oculus for Samsung
HTC Vive
Oculus Quest
Oculus Quest 2
Pimax 5K+ ( love this headset )
HTC Vive Pro 2
HP Reverb G2
So I have some idea of comparison.
This is accurate. Own mine for less than 24 hrs… Returned it !
For G2 to increase greatly FOV remove gasket and add velcro and vive cover 6mm
The only way for you is the Pimax 8k X since resolution is close to the G2 but with the wider FOV
Already modded G2 and its ok as far as FOV. It has potential. But quirky software keeps crashing and standalone DCS ( my #1 program ) needs steam with G2 where Pimax doesn’t need it to run. So less fussing and overhead. If anyone is interested I have AMVR Magnetic Buckle Facial Interface Bracket & PU Leather Foam Face Cover Replacement for HP Reverb G2 from amazon… More FOV and more comfortable and heat venting. My main post was about the Vive Pro 2 - the Reverb G2 beats it by a long shot.
