For reference: pimax 4k vs Vive Pro

The Log shot is sharp.

Which log shot you’re talking about?

Post a pic that matches the 8k shots with the same camera they used.

I already did, like said, I used exact same camera as sweviver used for shooting his pics. Unless he did some retouching, they should be the same. I just shot and uploaded, didn’t do anything else.

Sure, but different ISO settings, lighting, distances, angles, etc. It’s just not an apples to apples comparison.

I get it, you like your 4K and want the 8K to be better. But absent some useful information that can make the 8K better, this is just trolling.

At least now your posting relevant info. You saw @SweViver’s hellblade pic; take the same pic.

In a different note did you unmodify your 4k headset?

My lens was in direct contact with my cam lens so distance can’t be an issue. Angle would produce incorrect images easy to spot. Iightning wouldn’t influence SDE, nor ISO setting.

I don’t even have Hellblade. I can buy it for sure though, no problem. Is it an opening shot in the game? Will that satisfy your or will you then go on with “ISO settings were different” and that kind of nonsense?

Yeah that’s a horrible pic man

That’s how it looks more or less with headset on.

Now the opening shot might be best as that game is a beast.

On the 4k to get nice smooth play on my 1080 ti medium settings.

So once I buy the game I immediately see the shot I need to take? I’m willing to buy the game to settle this issue but not when I need to play for a long time

I guess @Heliosurge needs to turn off all “beautifiers” and “instagram filters” on his camera first. The pic above is more an act of art than a photo.

If Deus Ex demo runs on both headsets it could be good to compare.

But yes to do proper compares settings in the camera need to be identicle for comparison. With that being said you & @sweviver could compare settings. Then the only variable is to figure out how to rig the camera up to be setup same for both shots to be equal (scientific method)

LOL yeah what he posted has NOTHING to do with how it looks on the Pimax 4k. More like an artistic impression indeed, LOL

The shot sweviver took might be opening menu. The shot i took is in the first 15m of play or less.

However it’s quite hard on gpu. I will say that med settings will get smooth gameplay but can dial settings up for pictures.

It said no filters but cameras have their own things.

Too bad don’t have old school 35mm. Lol

To me it honestly seems you’re trying to jump through all kinds of hoops to avoid the simple facts that:

  1. Upscaling works GREAT on the Pimax 4k, as you can see. Upscaling per se is not a bad thing at all (as some try to make us believe here on this forum)
  2. Most people prefer the Pimax 5k over the Pimax 8k. So that’s a 1440p LCD panel over a 4k LCD panel.

Also the whole spanish team said the Pimax 4k is way better than the Pimax 8k.

I’ve not even seen a single Pimax 8k photo that impresses me and you fail to post one too.

The 4k has less requurements on gpu vs the 8k. You’d almost need to run a game that both could max out settings to compare directly.

I can’t post an 8k photo. Plus as the Testers said themselves the photos don’t really give a clear representation of what you see yourself.

& Zooming pics will show faults.
