Maybe because they were ready to do the same thing with the KS headsets, had it not been for the beta-testers unwillingness to green light it.
no worries though, in about a year or so when the next HMD comes out with every feature on our wish list (packed into one vr extravaganza) everything will work perfectly out of the box on delivery.
apple vr/mr headset is rumored to have dual 8k micro oled screen, and could be released end of 2022.
Haha, Iâll assume thatâs sarcastic. The earphone connectors on the 12K look identical to the current Audio Strap. @PimaxUSA will the DMAS speakers be compatible with the 12K?
Iâll never buy an apple product again.
I bought a new 27" Imac from BestBuy for like $2700 in 2012. Within 3.5 years the screen went black and repairing it was not worth the money quoted. Never again.
Iâm in camp âNo Oneâ
Whatever company brings out the most beef I will consider it. Brand loyalty in electronics is silly, consumers get nothing for being loyal to any brand. I rather be a tech whore than a tech cultist.
The m1 units couldnât be green lit. What they brought to Berlin Backer meet m2 was green lightable as the testers that went and backers there was âWowedâ. Tester Wise needed to be wowed.
Just seems they didnât do much improvements to the DMAS released version compared to the beta version it seems.
Ya I was here. Point was they thought it was until told otherwise.
The word âDeluxeâ seems to have wiggle room these days.
We are providing a 100% credit from your prior Pimax headset towards the new flagship. Will be quite the decent benefit for owning a Pimax.
Doesnât necessarily mean a person is particularly âloyalâ but it is a real benefit you donât see elsewhere. We hope to keep thinking up and offering genuine benefits for owning our headsets.
I believe next year will be an interesting time to choose a vr headset.
Itâs a nice gesture pimax giving to existing pimax owners but price of the pimax flagship has increased significantly too. (Doubled?)
I mean the competition has coming up with something similar to what base 12k will be offering (oled, 32ppd), minus the fov, and in some areas seems to be ahead (small form factor, diopter adjustments not require to wear glasses) for $599.
To upgrade to a 12k for a âloyalâ customer, Iâm going to use myself as an example (5k+ 8kx), I will have to surrender my 8kx and $1500 (for being 'loyal and early adopter my 8kx price is worth less at trade in), my dmas and eye tracker become my desk ornaments, and a bigger tax to boot.
I guess it makes sense if by the end of next year no competition has entered the market, but if there is, or are. Being âloyalâ is starting to not make as much sense.
Just my perspective as someone looking to purchase another headset next year. I understand you cannot directly compare different products with different features but in my mind I sort of still do.
The slides show joystick controllers has pimax talked to Dan whom Developed the Open driver that maps controllers as Knuckles?
Also since the DMAS 1.7k noise defect is a known defect (since DMAS beta as reported)on some Pimax 8kX is the team going to exchange these defective hmds?
I would have liked to get rid of this whining too !!!
It is unbearable!
I donât understand how this can happen.
I hope that we will get a solution soon.
And I hope that this problem is fixed in 12k.
I donât want to see any errors with the new 12K! do not break the housing! No broken audio!
I want a bug free product for so much money !!!
YOU MUST MAKE A QUALITY ASSURANCE! I am also an online trader. I have quality assurance!
Pimax needs that too!
there is no room for mistakes!
wow, better to set your expectations much lower. Comon man, this IS pimax after all.
Worked with Qualcomm on them, the engineers say these arenât LH tracked so the development was vastly easier.
Okay but given how @danwillm 's Openvr driver works for gloves including having a method for skeletal tracking this looks to making the pimax LH stick controllers quite doable as reported no latency issues. Danâs Driver being opensourced with the proper licensing can be used.
Now with the 12k Controllers they will still need mapping to SteamVR Wands/Knuckles for games that do not have direct game support as HTC had to do with the.Cosmos/Focus.
How about the question though of how the team with you helping to oversee the DMAS beta were informed about the 1.7k noise defect that is affecting some 8kX headsets. Is the Team looking to have these headsets exchanged?
Now if your just needing time to discuss how to resolve this; please just clarify the team is still discussing how to resolve this pressing issue for those affected by this known issue.
I wonder if emitting an inaudible signal to the headset when no audio was playing would eliminate the noise.
If so there would be a software fix to this.
Edit: Unrelated but interesting nonetheless. Now I know why my Woojer Vest improves my games.
Oh man, hindsightâs a b*tch.
Watching this video again, so much BS.
The rebuff guy is giving me serious â3D Headâ vibes.
âImproved on Indexâ? lol.
They dont sound bad ,but they are so bulky and ugly. this is one kickstarter I wish I could go back and undo.
Not because theyâre badâŚthey sound pretty good. They just feel soâŚpointless.
I guess this is what happens when you announce something and dont deliver until 2 years later.
When I backed his the RiftS and Quest 1 were the primary reason people wanted these.
Quest 2 actually sounds much better than Quest 1 did and it simply doesnât warrant using these. Plus Rift S is dead.
The only advantage to brand loyalty would be not having to learn new systems. If another brandâs product is clearly superior- the aggravation is worth it. Otherwise⌠not so much.
I have taken my DMAS off to make more space for a wireless headset, sacrificing a great deal of convenience and comfort. The DMAS are plain bad, the highpitch whine and terrible low end are just utterly disappointing and after spending days and more money trying to get them to a passable state I have just given up. If itâs because I have an early 8KX then please come up with a solution for punishing the customers that took a chance on you, Pimax.
